How do I write a story beginning with “This is the tenth year since I died”?
This is the tenth year since my death, and my good disciple still comes to dig my grave once a year. Now that he has become so powerful, he no longer needs to bring a hoe or a shovel to dig my grave. He can overturn my grave with just a flick of his fingers.
Logically speaking, today is the tenth anniversary of my death. He should have come on time before dawn, but he didn’t come. I floated on the grave and waited for a while, then floated on the tree branch and waited for a while. Maybe I waited too anxiously, so the ghosts nearby thought my going back and forth was too annoying, so they agreed to chase me and beat me up.
I was too lazy to argue with them and just wanted to straighten my robe, but as soon as I stretched out my hand, it went through my body. The hanged ghost next door laughed at me and forgot that he was dead. I didn’t want to pay attention to him. It was only ten years. It took me at least thirty years to go into seclusion.
I waited from morning till night that day, but my good disciple didn’t come. Maybe after thousands of days, he finally forgot about me, so it’s time for me to be reborn.
I asked the hanged ghost how to contact the Black and White Impermanence, as I wanted to send myself away.
The hanged man flicked his long scarlet tongue and asked me why I didn’t wait any longer.
I said the obsession is over, no need to look back.
The hanged ghost rolled his eyes and looked even more terrifying. I stared at him eagerly. He complained that I must have had a hit on my brain before I died, which was why I was talking so much nonsense, while he told me how to find the Black and White Impermanence.
I bowed and saluted him, thanking him for his care over the past ten years. He was too lazy to perform these empty formalities and hung himself back on the noose on the tree.
There were dead bodies everywhere in the mass grave, some new and some old. There were very few people like me who even had a small grave in the mass grave.
I floated on the tip of my own grave, circled three times to the right, three times to the left, and kicked a few times. According to Brother Diao, as long as I kicked three times, the Black and White Impermanence would come up and take me away.
To be honest, I am the only one who has experienced such a frustrating thing. My senior and junior brothers are still at the peak of their careers with their youthful and handsome faces, but I am the only one who lost my life early and is now wandering around in this mass grave.
I kicked three times and a White Ghost came up and pulled me aside, asking why I was looking for him so late at night.
I said I wanted to be reincarnated. If the impatience on Bai Wuchang’s face could have condensed into a physical entity, I would have been smashed to death.
“Yun Yi?” Bai Wuchang raised his head from the roster and glanced at me.
I nodded.
“That’s me.”
“Were you a cultivator in your lifetime?”
“yes.”
“What level have you reached in your cultivation?” Bai Wuchang closed the list and continued asking.
To what extent? I have indeed forgotten.
“It’s probably the level of becoming an immortal.”
“Nascent Soul?”
I shook my head.
“Distracted?”
I shook my head again.
“Overcoming the tribulation?” Bai Wuchang’s face was a little distorted.
I was planning to continue shaking my head, but Bai Wuchang didn’t look like he wanted to guess anymore, so I had to say it myself.
“Mahayana.”
“Oh my god.”
Bai Wuchang was so frightened that he took several steps back and asked me if I was joking.
I put on a serious face and told him that Yun had never lied to anyone in his life. Later, I felt that it was not right, so I changed it to Yun had only lied to one person in his life.
Bai Wuchang asked me to wait for him, so I had no choice but to squat on the grave and wait.
The hanged man was hanging on a rope, swinging himself around like a swing.
“You really were a cultivator?”
“Guaranteed authenticity.”
“Then why did you die here? Why didn’t you go to heaven?”
“When I was alive, Yun lived in the Hell of Fire and never went to heaven. Later, I did some dishonorable things. Before I died, my Yuandan was dug out and I lost my cultivation. Fortunately, I had a disciple who buried me and built a tomb for me.”
“Are you talking about the apprentice who comes to dig your grave every year?”
“Exactly.”
“He’s your apprentice? I thought he was your enemy.”
I waved my hand and replied with a smile:
“My disciple is not a bad person, he just likes to dig things.”
The hanged man had never seen these things before. After listening for a while, he felt bored and went back.
Not long after, Bai Wuchang came back with a team of ghost soldiers and a larger book. He also took out a bunch of soul-binding ropes and tied me up with a knot.
“Can you tie a bow?” I turned my head and looked at the knotted rope behind me.
Bai Wuchang relied on his numbers… no, his numbers of ghosts and his power, and glared at me fiercely.
“Yun Yi, died in the battle of Ditang Mountain ten years ago. He was a member of the Fire Prison and practiced magic. He was known as…” Bai Wuchang paused and continued.
“He’s called the Immortal Slayer.”
“Yes.” I grinned, showing my big white teeth: “It’s me.”
“But you just said you were a cultivator! I hate people who practice magic the most in my life.” Bai Wuchang kicked me. Maybe it was because of the ghost, I actually felt some pain when I was kicked.
“Brother Wuchang, I have never lied to you. The Immortal Lord Zhu is indeed me, and I am indeed a cultivator of the immortal way.”
“How dare you lie to me.” Bai Wuchang stretched out his hand, revealing the sharp nails on all five fingers: “If you don’t tell the truth, I will smack you to pieces with one palm.”
I wanted to shrug helplessly, but I was suppressed by the ghost soldiers and couldn’t move, so I could only curl my lips.
“I can’t explain it clearly, so I’ll have to ask Brother Wuchang to be more aggressive and end it with one palm.”
Bai Wuchang yelled that it would be worse than crushing the demon cultivators to ashes, and was about to slap him, but the ghost soldiers beside him held him back and advised him not to be impulsive.
It’s just that I haven’t taken on the task of reincarnation for demon cultivators for thousands of years, and it’s not easy to handle it by myself, so I have to take them back first.
“Hey.” I raised my chin and said, “Brother, I am a cultivator.”
“Oh, yes, the mission of reincarnation for immortal cultivators hasn’t been accepted for thousands of years.”
The ghost soldier who was trying to persuade Bai Wuchang in a kind way gave me a shy smile and was then slapped in the face.
“You believe him when he says he is a cultivator? Then do you also believe him when he says he is the immortal Xuanji from Ditang Mountain Residence?”
Tsk, I sighed secretly, my good disciple has become so famous in just ten years. Even people in Yama Palace know his name. He is worthy of being the disciple of my Lord Zhuxian.
Bai Wuchang was determined to disperse my soul. I closed my eyes, raised my head and chest, and told him to hurry up and not waste time.
It doesn’t matter if I can’t be reborn, but if I say I didn’t lie, I won’t lie. Even if I’m killed, I will fight for my dignity.
Perhaps because he had never seen someone like me, Bai Wuchang bared his teeth and slapped me on the forehead. In a moment, I felt my arm turn into tiny dust and scatter away.
“hiss……”
I opened my eyes amid the sound of inhaling all around me. Bai Wuchang’s hand was still an inch away from my forehead, but I had already dissipated for the most part. My soul turned into dust and floated in the mass grave, faintly emitting a moon-white light, and then gathered into a stream and flew to the same place.
I was just about to ask the ghost soldier next to me to judge whether I was a cultivator or not. Is there any cultivator in this world whose soul would emit white light when it disperses?
But before I could say anything, I disappeared into the world under the gaze of everyone around me.
I thought I was going to die like this. Even though I had lived and died for so many years, I had never seen this way of dying.
But I also felt that I was not dead. After all, I was floating around and could still hear them talking.
Someone asked who Zhu Xianjun belonged to.
Some people complained that I was punished by God for practicing magic.
Some also ask what Hell is.
Although he didn’t even have a soul, I still shed tears of relief. I didn’t even want to refute the accusation that I was practicing magic. My good disciple actually overturned the Hell of Fire in just ten years. He is worthy of being the supreme power on the top of Ditang Mountain.
You may not believe it, but I am a good person.
Although when I was alive I lived in the hell of endless fire, stepped on a hundred thousand floating corpses, and even my nickname was Zhu Xian Jun.
But I am a cultivator.
It’s the immortal with ethereal and ethereal appearance that you imagine.
But now I no longer have the appearance of an immortal, because I have been condensed into the size of a palm and locked in a soul-gathering lamp. My junior brother who has cultivated the Purple Cloud Bamboo into a spirit, with purple hair, squatted in front of me and cried for a full half hour.
“Stop crying.” I knocked on the wall of the lamp. My ears would go deaf if I kept crying.
“Brother… Uaaaaaaa.”
When Fu Yan heard me talking, he cried even louder.
“Stop crying, or you’ll commit suicide.”
“belch……”
Fu Yan hiccupped and finally stopped crying.
“Tell me, what’s going on?”
I sat cross-legged in the lamp, watching Fu Yan lying in front of the soul-gathering lamp and sobbing silently.
“Brother, I miss you so much.”
“Is this the point?”
“Isn’t this the point?” Fu Yan blinked, with a look of grievance between his brows.
“The point is why am I here!!!”
I yelled across the light.
“Oh… because of the soul-gathering lantern.”
“…”
I gave up and laid down in the lamp in despair, looking at the runes on the top of the lamp with my arms and legs spread out.
“Senior Brother.” Fu Yan moved closer, and I was afraid that he would try to squeeze in.
“Brother, they all said that your soul was scattered, but I didn’t believe it, so I took advantage of Master’s retreat to steal the Soul Gathering Lamp. I just wanted to give it a try, but I didn’t expect to really find you back.”
I supported my head with my hands and looked at Fu Yan, whose eyes were sharp and he began to curse.
“Are you stupid? I am no longer your senior brother. It takes a thousand years to use this Soul Gathering Lamp. How many years have you practiced? What if you fail? If you can’t find me, will you go back to your bamboo forest and become a bamboo?”
I was wondering why my hair turned purple. It turns out that I have lost a thousand years of cultivation and it can no longer turn black.
“As long as I, Fu Yan, am still alive, the friendship between you and me as brothers will never change.”
As expected, he was a straight and stupid bamboo spirit. I was so angry that I almost burst into tears.
“Turn on this damn light. I want to go out.”
“No! Brother, you don’t have a body now, and you don’t have any cultivation. You won’t live long when you come out.”
I swallowed back my tears as I said that I didn’t want to live in the first place, and discussed with Fu Yan whether they should bring my body back first.
Fu Yan frowned, his brows seemed to be tied into a knot.
“Brother, when you were still gathering your soul yesterday, I already followed the path to check. Your grave had been dug up and your body was gone.”
I thought about it with my toes, and there was really no other possibility except that Bai Wuchang was so angry that he ground my body into dust.
“Brother, don’t worry. We will find a way.” Fu Yan paused and then asked, “But brother, have you been staying there for the past ten years? Since you didn’t die back then, why didn’t you reincarnate?”
I wanted to vote, but Bai Wuchang didn’t believe me, and you got me back.
Looking at Fu Yan’s sincere eyes, I also answered sincerely.
“After the battle at Mount Ditang, a trace of my soul remained attached to my body. Later, I was thrown into a mass grave. The mass grave was full of wronged souls, and I couldn’t get out, so I stayed there.”
“You haven’t reincarnated in ten years? If you were reincarnated, you would be a half-grown child now.”
I want to smash Fu Yan’s head off. Can’t you see that I don’t want to answer this question?
“Brother, I’m so sleepy…”
Fu Yan tried his best to open his eyes wide, but then his eyelids drooped again.
How can I not be sleepy? I feel pain just listening to the fact that I have lost a thousand years of cultivation.
“Go to sleep.”
“Then, Senior Brother, please stay in the lamp.”
“Okay, I’ll listen to you.”
Fu Yan fell asleep at the table in just a few breaths. I circled around the soul-gathering lamp a few times and could barely see by the light that this was the secret room of Liuyun Peak.
I am not a talented person, but I often meditated here when I was young.
I didn’t expect that after so much time, I would see this scene when I returned to Liuyun Peak.
I remember that I was a well-known young talent in Liuyun Peak. All the girls in the surrounding area would blush when they saw me. My master who expelled me from the sect was about to arrange a marriage for me, but I turned around and brought back a bamboo basket with a baby in it. The whole sect was so scared that they thought I had owed a romantic debt outside. Fortunately, God had eyes, and I just felt sorry for the child and wanted to bring him back to raise him for fun.
If I hadn’t picked up that ancestor back then, I would probably be the ancestor now.
Fu Yan was sleeping soundly and snoring loudly. By the time he woke up, I hadn’t slept for six days and six nights.
Seeing how haggard I looked, Fu Yan touched the back of his head embarrassedly.
“Brother, I snore when I sleep, you know.”
“I’m a real man, I understand, I understand…”
“Brother, I’ll take you out right now to see if there’s a freshly dead body that’s still warm that we can use.”
Fu Yan said this with such sincerity that I couldn’t even find any fault with it.
I am in the lamp, and the lamp is in Fu Yan’s wide sleeves.
For fear of running into his fellow disciples, Fu Yan chose a small path and ran all the way down Liuyun Peak.
I remember there was a small town at the foot of Liuyun Peak. It was usually bustling with people coming and going and the sounds of hawking. Why was it so quiet today?
I pressed my face against the soul-gathering lamp, trying to find a gap in Fu Yan’s fluttering sleeves to look outside.
The whole town was closed and there was not a single person on the streets.
“Fu Yan, why is there no one here?”
“Brother.” Fu Yan lifted his sleeves and mentioned me, “I find it strange too. It wasn’t like this a few days ago.”
“Who is it?!” A loud shout scared Fu Yan so much that he dropped his hands instantly and put them behind his back.
“Disciple of Liuyun Peak, Fu Yan.”
I covered my face in the light. How come after all these years, Fu Yan still hasn’t even gotten the position of an elder, and he’s still calling himself a disciple outside.
“So you are Senior Fu Yan from Liuyun Peak. I am so sorry.”
The person on the other end sounded quite polite, but I didn’t know where he came from.
I don’t know, and neither does Fu Yan, so Fu Yan asks back:
“Who are you? Why are you at the foot of Liuyun Peak?”
“I am a disciple from Ditang Mountain and I have come to visit you at Liuyun Peak.”
I was still thinking that Fu Yan and I had a telepathic connection, but unexpectedly I heard the three words “Ditang Mountain”.
To be honest, I was almost scared to tears.
After all, I died in Ditang Mountain.
“What are you doing here? You are not welcome at Liuyun Peak!”
The people on the other side probably didn’t expect to be turned away before they even got up the mountain, and were speechless for a moment.
It was a rare moment for Fu Yan to be so straightforward. I was anxiously trying to go out to take a look in the light, but Fu Yan suddenly moved, took several steps forward, and then let out a roar that almost deafened me.
“Rong Ting, you actually dare to come?”
Rong Ting?
My movements and breathing paused, and then I began spinning around and kicking in the soul-gathering lamp, begging Bai Wuchang to come and take me away quickly.
But Bai Wuchang did not come, and Rong Ting ignored Fu Yan. He even passed Fu Yan and flew directly to Liuyun Peak on his sword. This made Fu Yan very embarrassed, so he ran and flew all the way up.
“Brother, don’t be afraid. I’m here. If he dares to touch you, I’ll fight him to the death.”
I’m not very afraid of Rong Ting, but it’s really dizzy going up and down the mountain like this, and I’m afraid I’ll vomit in the soul-gathering lamp.
The Immortal Xuanji from Ditang Mountain Residence came to visit in person, and I guess Liuyun Peak must have made a huge display. Although I couldn’t see it all, I vaguely saw my eldest senior brother, second senior brother, third senior brother, fourth senior sister, sixth junior brother… There weren’t so many people watching when I was expelled from the sect.
As for where Rong Ting was, it was just because Fu Yan was standing too far away that I couldn’t see him at all.
“I wonder what business has the Immortal Xuanji had in visiting my Liuyun Peak?”
My senior brother’s voice still sounds so kind and friendly.
“Borrow something.”
Why does my disciple’s voice sound like ice chips?
“I wonder what we have in Liuyun Peak that is worthy of the Immortal Xuanji coming to visit us personally.”
“Soul-gathering lamp.”
I was stunned.
This was the first time I saw my senior brother fight, and also the first time I saw my senior brother kill someone. For a moment, I felt that he wanted to avenge me.
On Liuyun Peak, sand and rocks were flying, the wind was blowing hard, and the branches and leaves of the trees were flying everywhere, which looked spectacular.
The wind blew from all directions, and two figures intertwined in the wind and sand. I thought that although my senior brother was older than Rong Ting and had fought for countless rounds, he would definitely not be Rong Ting’s opponent if he continued to fight like this. Sure enough, after a while, my senior brother who was still strong in age fell from mid-air. Fortunately, the onlookers caught him quickly, otherwise he would have been hurt again.
“Rong Ting, you are going too far.”
In an instant, my fellow disciples surrounded Rong Ting.
Fu Yan turned around, and I could see clearly that Rong Ting had brought only one follower with him. For a moment, I really didn’t know whether it was my good fellow disciples who surrounded my good disciple, or my good disciple who surrounded my fellow disciple.
There were so many people that I could only see the jade crown on Rong Ting’s head and his tied black hair.
Fu Yan told me that my fellow brothers would never hand over the Soul Gathering Lamp.
Fu Yan said something right, which was rare. My fellow disciples would rather die than surrender.
But my master gave in.
My master who had just finished his retreat suddenly came out, flew down with a head full of white hair, stood in the crowd and stared at Rong Ting, without any murderous intent at all.
So is this what intergenerational affection is?
I couldn’t hear clearly what they were saying. Fu Yan kept stuffing the things into my sleeves. I squatted under the light and didn’t know what day it was.
When I saw the light again, it was Fu Yan kneeling in the treasure house of Liuyun Peak. It was the master who asked him to kneel.
“Stealing the Soul Gathering Lamp, you know you are wrong.”
“Fu Yan admitted his mistake, but he didn’t know it.”
“you….”
My master sighed deeply and asked Fu Yan to hand over the Soul Gathering Lamp, but Fu Yan was unwilling to do so.
So my master snatched me away, and we stared at each other under the lamp.
The master seemed to have aged a lot, and I greeted him with my standard toothy smile. If I was not mistaken, my master, who had lived for who knows how many years, almost burst into tears for a moment.
The master asked me if I wanted to come out. If I did, he would kill someone and find a body for me.
I waved my hand. Why would I break the taboo and kill someone?
The master asked me if I was willing to meet Rong Ting, and if I didn’t, he would go and fight.
I smiled happily and said yes, since he didn’t remember me anyway.
My master asked me how I had been doing in the past ten years, and I said quite well, and that the hanged man next door often chatted with me.
The master asked me if I regretted it or not. I was happy in the lamp and said I would not regret it even if I died nine times.
So the master scolded me as a fool and put a curse on me so that others could not see me. He said that he would only lend the lamp to Rong Ting for three days, and he would take me home after three days.
Take me home.
When the talisman turned into golden light and fell on me, I asked the master if he still recognized me.
My master said I was a fool.
Then I understand, my master is still willing to recognize me.
I guessed that Rong Ting wanted the soul-gathering lamp in order to save his parents in this life, so I shrank back and forth towards the edge of the soul-gathering lamp. This soul-gathering lamp has the effect of making a person’s soul visible. Although my master cast a spell of invisibility on me, it would not be good to squeeze into someone else’s parents’ room.
When I fell into Rong Ting’s hands, I could just see his face.
It was a clear moon with a cool breeze, just like the cold moonlight that falls on the Ditang Mountain every night. It was beautiful but also made people feel cold.
In the past few years, he came to dig my grave once a year. At first, he was injured and could only use tools to dig. Later, when his injuries healed, he just moved his fingers and opened my grave pile but did not open my coffin. He just stood there and looked at it for a while. The mass grave was dirty and dark, and my soul was weak. He looked at the coffin and I looked at him, but I could never see his appearance clearly. Now I can see it clearly, in broad daylight, so I am not at fault.
Ditang Mountain is far away from Liuyun Peak. I was half asleep in the light of the lamp, and when I opened my eyes again, I was at Ditang Mountain Residence, Rongting’s residence.
The moonlight on Ditang Mountain is cold, people are cold, and his room is also quite cold. The sun is scorching outside, but I actually feel so cold that it’s shivering in here.
Rong Ting sat in front of me, and he started chanting spells as soon as we had a disagreement. A bright light was injected into the soul-gathering lamp. I thought to myself, is this the immortal? He could just throw away a thousand years of cultivation.
I crouched in the corner, afraid that a ghost might suddenly appear and scare me.
Rong Ting’s face turned paler and paler, and the light flickered, but there was nothing in the soul-gathering lamp.
Maybe his parents are really dead and nothing is left.
Then Rong Ting began to chant and cast spells again.
Three thousand years of cultivation in one afternoon, Fu Yan almost had a heart attack after hearing this.
When it was getting dark, Rong Ting finally stopped. He held the soul-gathering lamp in his hand and showed a rare look of helplessness. This look made me feel as if I was in another world, or rather, it was indeed in another world.
I felt that Rong Ting spoke less, always mumbling two words at a time, and sometimes not speaking for hours. He was sitting there when I fell asleep in the soul-gathering lamp, and he was still sitting there when I woke up.
The next day he continued to cast spells, as if practicing magic was free.
Never mind, my Yuandan absorbed the cultivation of the Fire Hell Ghost King, plus my own, it is enough for him.
The temperature in this room was so freezing that I wanted to curse, but luckily my master came to Ditang Mountain before I froze into an ice cube. He came very early in the morning, so he must have missed me.
The master reached out to take the soul-gathering lamp. Rong Ting’s face was pale, and his lips were also white, as if all the blood in his body had been drained out.
Rong Ting had cast spells countless times in the past three days, but now he didn’t even have the strength to stop them. He could only sit there and watch his master take me away.
The two of them didn’t say a word, or maybe they just disliked each other, but they had to endure it.
Seeing that my master was about to leave, I suddenly felt reluctant and had to lie on the wall of the lamp and look at Rong Ting.
If nothing unexpected happens, Master will find a body for me and raise me in Liuyun Peak, so that I can live the same retirement life as my senior brother. Then my former disciple, now the Immortal Xuanji, will continue to dominate the world in Ditang Mountain.
I don’t know what happened to my senior brother who was beaten and vomited blood.
Just as the master was about to step out of the door, Rong Ting opened his mouth and uttered the longest sentence I had heard him say in the past few days.
“Have you ever tried this lamp?”
Logically, you should say “your money”, but how come you are so impolite as the leader?
As for using the Soul Gathering Lamp, this thing is a treasure passed down from Liuyun Peak. Except for that silly boy Fu Yan, who else would use this when they have nothing to do? Of course, my use of it doesn’t count.
My master turned around and made me dizzy.
“What do you mean?”
How should I put it? The way they address each other always makes me feel that they are of the same generation. How about I be your apprentice?
“As long as there is a trace of soul, no matter how far away it is, it can be gathered together, right?”
nonsense.
My master also thought it was nonsense, so he didn’t answer.
But he didn’t leave, probably because he thought I would be curious about what Rong Ting wanted to say.
I saw Rong Ting stand up, then sit down again, and then stand up again.
At the same time, I pulled out the sword that I had sharpened for more than six hundred years and tempered thousands of times in the hellfire, and pointed the tip of the sword at my master.
“The Fire Prison is gone, the Wind Listening Pavilion is gone. Since he is your disciple, I can only kill him on Flowing Cloud Peak and refine your souls to see if I can find him back.”
I looked at the cold light on the sword and suddenly remembered the two words Bai Wuchang said when I told him that day that I had reached the Mahayana stage of cultivation.
“Oh my god.”
If you live long enough, you will see everything.
For example, my eldest senior brother, who is known as the mascot of Liuyun Peak, drew his sword even though he knew he could not defeat Rong Ting.
For example, my good disciple pointed the sword I gave him at my master and wanted to massacre Liuyun Peak.
For example, my master and my apprentice are fighting now with flames flying everywhere.
But if I may be frank, these are the ones I left behind.
But there is only one thing, Rong Ting actually said that what he was looking for was my soul. This will shock me for three thousand years.
No wonder he tried so many times and it didn’t work, because I was in the light.
I really wanted them to stop fighting, or the house on Ditang Mountain would collapse. But the master held the soul-gathering lamp in his arms, tossing it back and forth, and I couldn’t even fart.
After all, my master is a respected elder, and Rong Ting hadn’t slept well for several days and nights, and had lost a lot of his cultivation, so it was reasonable for him to be defeated.
Today, Rong Ting is the Immortal Xuanji who pacified the Hell of Fire. Besides, since I am still watching, Master will definitely not kill him. He will just use the hilt of the sword to repel him.
Rong Ting’s robe was covered in dust. He got up from the ground, picked up his sword and was ready to continue fighting.
My master didn’t want to get involved, but Rong Ting insisted that he leave the Soul Gathering Lamp behind.
All this is for me.
I was so moved that I wanted to cry, although I didn’t know whether he wanted to save me or resurrect me to torture me for his own amusement.
Being entangled to no end, the master had to stop and return to Liuyun Peak, and asked Rong Ting why he killed me in the past and why he wanted to borrow the Soul Gathering Lamp now.
Rong Ting said nothing, led his master into the room, turned around and blasted open a secret door with his palm.
I looked at the huge ice coffin in the dark room, and suddenly I understood why the room was so cold.
As for the person in the ice coffin, my blind guess is that it is me.
When I looked closer, it really was me.
Rong Ting not only dug up my grave, he also opened the lid of my coffin.
After ten years, I finally saw my face again.
Although I died in an ugly way that year, I still had the Ningxian Pearl given to me by my second senior brother. Even though I became a corpse ten years later, my face is still lifelike and I look like a gentleman if I go out.
So Ting’er, you really don’t need to make such a big ice coffin.
Have you never wondered why I haven’t changed in the soil for so many years?
I watched Master place his hands on the ice coffin, and I felt that the old man must be thinking that this time he wouldn’t have to look around for a suitable body for me.
“Where did you bury him?”
“Mass grave.”
“Why did you bring his body back to Ditang Mountain?”
Rong Ting’s gaze fell on the ice coffin, or to be more precise, on my face. Then he raised his hand, and a scarlet line slowly appeared on his palm, which was particularly dazzling in the dark room.
I was so frightened that I jumped up in the soul-gathering lamp.
I paced back and forth in the light. Rong Ting took back the Yuandan and stood with his hands behind his back.
“He owes me a reason.”
I scratched my head, but couldn’t find anything solid.
It’s quite embarrassing for me to say this reason.
This red line was left by the Ghost King.
At the beginning, I asked the Ghost King to do something for me, and he agreed. But everything in this world has a cause and an effect. I was naked and alone at the time, so how could I get the effect out of thin air?
So he had no choice but to agree to practice Taoism every day to provide food for the Ghost King. He then worked hard to practice Taoism and reached the Mahayana stage. He even gave him half of his life so that he could exchange it for Rong Ting.
To put it bluntly, this red line is half of my life.
As for why this well-hidden thread was dug out by Rong Ting, I can only say that he might have learned this skill from digging up my grave over the years.
“Yier doesn’t owe you anything.”
My master has always protected me.
“Yi…er…? What’s his name?”
That’s right, I had forgotten that this disciple still doesn’t know my name in this life.
“Yun Yi.”
The fairy floats in the misty clouds, and flows into the distant Yi River.
This is what my master said when he named me. Later, I indeed became the most free cloud on Liuyun Peak.
“Why… did he go to Hell?”
“Shangxian Xuanji doesn’t even know Yi’er’s name, why would he come back to ask after she’s been dead for more than ten years?”
The master refused to say anything more, or maybe the master didn’t know whether I wanted him to say it or not.
Two people were in a dark room, and three people were confronting each other.
In the end, Rong Ting was defeated. The master not only took away the Soul Gathering Lamp, but also took away my body. He also left a sentence: If the Immortal Xuanji wants to massacre Liuyun Peak, just come and try.
I acquiesced. I had originally thought that I would only see him once every ten years, but I had seen him countless times in these three days, so that was enough.
My master covered me and let me ride the wind. Perhaps this is what it means to live under someone else’s lamp.
I asked Master whether Rong Ting would really go to Liuyun Peak to attack.
Master said no, too many things happened in the past ten years that I didn’t know about.
I said maybe, he is my apprentice.
The master said that a foolish child may not necessarily raise another foolish child. That person didn’t even know my name in this life.
I said I didn’t tell him.
The master didn’t speak.
I asked my master, is it really that important whether one is a human or a demon?
Master said, this is how human hearts are.
I said, oh.
After ten years, I was finally able to touch myself again. Although I was so weak that I would fall after taking two steps, I was still happy.
So I turned to my master and asked when I would die.
The master raised his fist and hit me.
“Live well while you can.”
The master unclenched his fist and touched my head, and I always felt like he was touching a puppy.
“After you died, I used the soul-gathering lamp, but the lamp didn’t light up, so I thought your soul had really dissipated.”
I complained that Master, you used it too early, and there were many wandering ghosts in the mass grave. At that time, my soul was transparent, so of course I couldn’t come back.
“Since you still have a soul, why don’t you want to reincarnate?”
I said that at the beginning my soul was too weak to reincarnate, and it was only after a year that it gathered together a little, and I thought it was possible to reincarnate, but he came suddenly that day. I thought that if there was a first time, there would be a second time, so I just waited like this, and before I knew it, almost ten years had passed.
“No need to wander around outside. Live in Liuyun Peak from now on. Your fellow disciples miss you very much.”
I grinned and stroked Master’s white beard.
“Master, he didn’t come that day, I thought he had let it go, I wanted to reincarnate, but that White Impermanence insisted that I was practicing the devil’s way, so I had an argument with him, and he said he would smack me to pieces, I thought it would be good to just smack me, without love or hate, without worries or fears, how wonderful it is.”
The master patted my back in silence.
“I am old now, you have to serve me tea and water.”
I agreed happily.
The days at Liuyun Peak were extremely leisurely. I was afraid of scaring the new disciples, so I just lay in the yard where my master lived alone every day to bask in the sun.
My fellow disciples took turns visiting me every day. Sometimes when I fell asleep they would pinch me to see if I was still alive.
No one asked me how I came back to life, everyone was very happy.
Master is trying to find a way to improve my health. I think his hair has turned several shades greyer because of thinking about it.
Fu Yan was locked up by his master to practice, and was told to quickly make up for the gaps in his cultivation.
My second senior brother showed off in front of me and said that if it weren’t for his Ningxian Pearl, I would have been dead.
I said yes, if it weren’t for my second senior brother’s Ningxianzhu, I really wouldn’t be able to keep that soul.
When Fu Yan was in solitary confinement, only his second senior brother talked the most around him.
He said that after I died, the Hell of Fire was leaderless, and Rong Ting single-handedly pacified the Hell of Fire, and the world was peaceful from then on.
He said that Rong Ting is now a supreme immortal respected by everyone and would never do anything like bloodbath at Liuyun Peak, so I can rest assured.
What the second senior brother said was the least reliable, so the next day Rong Ting went to Liuyun Peak to attack.
This time I didn’t bring anyone.
There was no bloodbath, but many people were beaten down.
My senior brother, whose internal injuries had not yet healed, went into battle again, and this time he was beaten so hard that he vomited blood.
The master and I stood on the top of the mountain and asked me if I wanted to go.
I shook my head.
The master said that after he discovered the thread, he became obsessed with it. If the obsession is too strong, he will become possessed.
Look, as a supreme immortal who upholds righteousness, how could he tolerate that his life was taken by the evil Zhuxian Jun?
Look, in this shitty world, what’s bound to come will always come.
The master told all the disciples to retreat, leaving only the eldest brother alone. I suspected that the master thought that the eldest brother was injured and unable to move.
Then he grabbed my neck and flew down.
It’s a pity that I wasted all my skills and ended up looking so miserable.
Rong Ting seemed to have recovered. He was not even embarrassed or out of breath after beating up all the disciples of Liuyun Peak.
In fact, among his peers, the third senior brother has the highest cultivation level, but the eldest senior brother has always regarded himself as my father. I guess he just wanted to vent my anger, so he confronted him head-on.
To be honest, I think the eldest brother has gained weight again. He must have been beaten up.
My master carried me down from the sky in an indecent posture, and my new clothes were wasted.
It’s been a long time since I last met so many people in person, and I felt a little embarrassed.
Rong Ting stared at me straight and didn’t even notice that the sword in his hand had fallen to the ground.
For a moment, I didn’t know whether to call him Ting’er, Rong Zuoshi, or Xuanji Shangxian.
The last time we met, I was wearing a red robe and a grinning ghost mask, leading thousands of ghosts from the Hell of Fire to surround the righteous path of Xiuxian, and Rong Ting was among them.
Then my thousands of ghosts were killed.
This time I was wearing the new clothes that my fourth senior sister made for me, and I looked quite decent.
“Kill… Yun Yi?”
I was still thinking about my opening remarks when I heard Rong Ting calling my name. I was startled.
Can you please finish saying the three words “Zhu Xian Jun”? Saying just one word sounds like you are scolding me.
I couldn’t figure out what expression to make, so I could only keep my facial features calm and steady.
“Hyunji, long time no see.”
“You’re not dead?”
“Dead, alive again.”
Rong Ting’s expression became colorful. I guess it was because he gave up his fame and went to Liuyun Peak, but I was standing in front of him alive.
“Leave him to me.”
Rong Ting pointed the sword at my master.
Doesn’t this require asking for my opinion?
Then the master pushed me to him.
“Three days later, if you are missing a hair, I will use all my strength to massacre Ditang Mountain with blood.”
Three days, three days, and three days again.
I really don’t want to fly anymore. Liuyun Peak is too far away from Ditang Mountain. I’m going to vomit from flying.
These two people had no intention of listening to my opinion, except my eldest brother, who was worried about me. When Rong Ting pulled me to fly away on the sword, my eldest brother stood on the tail of the sword.
The master agreed.
Rong Ting stayed there for a long time and agreed.
My sword could have been very light, but now it seems quite heavy.
I was weak and staggered on the sword. Rong Ting took a look and stretched out his fingers to clamp my wrist.
My Ting’er cares about me, just not completely.
But I was still a little afraid of him. After all, Ting’er, who had turned into a human, could still be very scary when he was occasionally fierce. So I glanced at the eldest senior brother behind me.
The eldest brother slapped Rong Ting’s hand away, held my shoulders, and let me lean on him.
reliable.
I was not afraid of being laughed at. At that moment I even felt a kind of fatherly warmth.
Senior Brother understood why I felt guilty when I saw Rong Ting, because when Rong Ting took my Yuandan from the bloody battle at Ditang Mountain that day, Senior Brother was not far away. I saw him recognize me, I saw him wanting to rush over, and I even saw him open his mouth to call my name.
So I raised my hand and cast a spell to freeze him, and also sealed his mouth.
The Immortal Lord of the Hell of Fire and the traitor Yun Yi of Liuyun Peak must not be the same person.
I don’t want Liuyun Peak to be involved in any more disputes because of me.
I don’t know how the eldest senior brother felt when he saw me die tragically on the spot. Anyway, he didn’t want me to contact Rong Ting at all, so when we arrived at Ditang Mountain, he walked between Rong Ting and me forcefully.
Very reliable.
When I entered Ditang Mountain Residence again, the room didn’t seem so cold anymore. I guess it was because the ridiculously large ice coffin had been thrown away.
I thought Rong Ting would set up his own sect after becoming an immortal, but after walking around twice, I found that there were only about ten living creatures in the entire Ditang Mountain, including the chirping bird he raised, and everyone was busy with their own duties.
The first time he went to Liuyun Peak, he brought two followers with him, perhaps because they were the only two who were free.
The people on the mountain didn’t know who I was. The eldest brother snorted and told me that they were ignorant.
I smiled and said why bother with these things with the juniors.
I remember that when I built Lingfeng Pavilion in Ditang Mountain, I was attracted by the unique scenery here. When I climbed up and looked into the distance, the clouds in the sky were right under my feet. In order to see such a scenery again, I picked a big tree and started climbing.
When Rong Ting came out after changing his clothes, I was standing on a tree branch with my hands on my hips, looking at the scenery.
There’s no way. When I was a ghost, I was used to floating in the trees.
The eldest senior brother snorted and rolled his eyes at Rong Ting, then at my signal, he turned back and went to other places.
In fact, my eyes were trying to tell Senior Brother if he could help me down the tree. It was really embarrassing to climb up and down in front of Rong Ting.
But my brother, who was like a father to me, misunderstood.
The wind was strong in the tree and I was quite panicked.
Rong Ting changed into lake-blue clothes, with a tall and slender figure and cranes flapping their wings as if ready to fly embroidered on her wide sleeves.
He stood in the shadow of the tree and stretched out his hand towards me. I seemed vaguely to see Ting’er as a child climbing up the tree and unable to get down. I stood in the porch and stretched out my hand towards him, telling him to just jump, as with the master here, he would be guaranteed not to get hurt at all.
There will be retribution for lying, I didn’t protect him well, so I deserved the retribution.
The world is changing and everything in front of me is blurry.
My feet slipped and I fell straight down from the tree.
The moment Rong Ting flew over and hugged me, I made up my mind to fall on the tree once a day. After all, Rong Ting’s shoulder was as reliable as that of my senior brother.
I was put on the ground, and I said thank you to the Immortal Hyun Ji, and Rong Ting withdrew his hand.
I thought Rong Ting was going to talk to me word by word again, but he asked me why I was standing on the tree.
It is eight words long and is truly moving and touching.
I pointed at the tree and said the scenery up there was beautiful.
Rong Ting asked me why and how I got up there.
I glanced at him.
Then Rong Ting fell silent again.
Some memories are so bad that you want to forget them but keep thinking about them. I understand Rong Ting’s feelings.
The world was silent. Rong Ting’s hair floated to my ears, making them itchy.
White clouds come and go, like a white sky in the sky.
Rong Ting suddenly spoke and said that he would occasionally think of me over the years.
I touched the tip of my nose and thought, are you here to dig my own grave?
“Is there anything else I can remember?”
“have.”
Rong Ting turned his head away, and I didn’t dare to look back, so I could only stare ahead.
Rong Ting said that he often thought of the time when he was taken to the Hellfire. There were tens of thousands of corpses and bones floating in the molten lava, and everywhere was scarlet and hot. Only I appeared in front of him carrying a block of iron, which was a rare touch of white in the Hellfire.
It was true, that hellish place called the Hell of Fire was so red that it hurt one’s eyes, and it was sometimes hot and sometimes bitterly cold. When the Ghost King threw the six-year-old Rong Ting to me, I had just sharpened half of the sword. At that time, Rong Ting was not yet Rong Zuo Shi. I touched his head and coaxed him to become his disciple, but he grabbed my hand and bit it hard, saying that one day he would destroy the Hell of Fire and kill all the evil people in the world.
It was really painful when a little kid bit you, so I withdrew my hand with a grimace, took out a book on Taoism and threw it to him.
I said, let’s practice, I’ll wait for that day.
There are tens of thousands of people practicing magic in the Fire Hell. Originally, I was the only one practicing immortality, but now there are two of us.
I think Rong Ting must be happy, after all, the path to immortality is what everyone desires.
But the Ghost King was unhappy. It was enough to have one outlier like me in the Hell of Fire. If there was another Rong Ting, he would think I was challenging his authority.
I offered the Ghost King a cup of tea, then squatted down and massaged his legs.
I said that no one knew about this anyway, so what if I cultivated immortality or magic? As long as it was a good sword, I could use it in any way.
Rong Ting is this good knife, a sharp blade that is hard to find in the world.
The first time he was sent out by the Ghost King to kill someone, I threw him the sword that had been sharpened for hundreds of years.
I said, take it.
Use me as a sword and you will be invincible.
I bet Rong Ting will take it because he lacks a handy weapon.
Rong Ting held a sword and wore a mask of Hellfire. He became famous in one battle. The entire Xu family in Jibei was captured. Rong Ting transformed himself into the Left Envoy of the Ghost King. I tied up the Xu family members and bowed to the Ghost King. So many people could be used to make pills.
The Ghost King agreed, and I set up the stove that night.
Then I fell asleep. When I woke up, the person in the furnace was still wailing. I summoned a flame from my palm and added fuel to the fire.
You little bastard, you even wanted to drug me, so I had to pretend to be asleep for two or three hours, and my back and waist ached from lying there.
Rong Ting became the Ghost King’s right-hand man. People outside were often frightened when they heard the name of the Ghost King’s Left Envoy, and I felt honored too.
Rong Ting no longer brought back prisoners of war. He told the Ghost King that all the people had been strangled to death. The Ghost King patted him on the shoulder and told everyone to learn from him.
Rong Ting was wearing a mask and I couldn’t see his expression clearly.
But I think he must be laughing at the Ghost King for being such a fool.
When the King of Ghosts wanted to set up a hall and a station in the human world, I said, let’s go to Ditang Mountain, the scenery there is beautiful.
The Ghost King was worried about letting me go alone. He was always afraid that I would betray him, so he asked Rong Ting to follow me.
That’s really what I want.
I built the Listening Wind Pavilion on Ditang Mountain. Rong Ting asked me why I chose this name. I said it was because the wind today was so strong that it felt like someone was slapping me in the face.
Rongting gave himself the nickname Xuanji, but I didn’t. I have no name or surname, and it would be best if I didn’t have a tombstone after I die.
Later, during the battle of Ditang Mountain, I don’t know who struck Lingfeng Pavilion with lightning, and not a single thing was left. I felt the pain for a long time.
Now Rong Ting no longer needs to wear a mask in front of others, as all the glory of the world falls on his shoulders.
I asked him if he wasn’t afraid that those people he released would reveal his identity?
Rong Ting looked at me in surprise and asked me how I knew he released those people.
I choked.
Damn, I let it slip.
Each sect has its own heritage.
For example, Liuyun Peak inherits the spirit of the big funnel.
I leak as much as I can if I can, and I leak bit by bit if I can’t.
Of course, sometimes if you leak too much, you will be caught.
For example, now Rong Ting grabbed me and asked me what I had hidden from him.
The chirping of the birds never stopped. Rong Ting frowned and waved his hand. Light filled the sky, instantly blocking out the outside sounds.
I asked Rong Ting what he wanted to know.
Rong Ting lifted up his sleeves, revealing the red line on his wrist.
He asked if this was about me.
I stared at the line, Rong Ting stared at me, and I wanted to nod several times, but the wind on Ditang Mountain was so strong that the trees were bent.
I shook my head.
Rong Ting continued to ask me why I had concealed it and condoned him even though I knew he was gradually eroding the Hell of Fire.
I’m talking nonsense because I’m a good person.
If you are imprisoned, then tear apart this dark sky.
Rong Ting asked me why I wanted to go to the Hell of Fire since I was from Liuyun Peak.
I say that heaven and earth are unkind, and it makes no difference whether you are on the path of immortality or the path of evil.
Inside the barrier, people were asking and answering questions to each other, while outside the barrier, the sun was hiding, and there was a feeling that a storm was about to come.
I was joking around, and Rong Ting got angry and grabbed my wrist. He slid his two fingers across my palm and then across my wrist, and then an identical red line appeared.
Rong Ting: “…”
I:”???”
My life is divided into two, one half is offered to the Ghost King, and the other half is exchanged for Rongting. When the Ghost King dies, the other half will naturally return to me.
But before I was dragged by the neck to see Rong Ting, my master made it clear that he would cover this line and never reveal any clues.
Only my master could do such a stupid thing as spitting on my wrist and rubbing it to pretend to cast a spell.
Rong Ting raised his hand and held it against mine. Two red lines twisted under his skin, as if they were about to break through the skin and jump out.
I cursed in my heart while trying to pull my hand back, but the wind and clouds were twisted, and before I could say anything, a bolt of lightning tore through the sky.
Rong Ting reacted faster. He pushed me away with a palm and flew in the opposite direction. Thunder and electricity struck the ground, leaving a big hole where he was standing. The soil was charred and smoking.
There was a burnt patch on Rong Ting’s clothes, and I took seven or eight steps back before I could steady myself.
Damn it.
Another bolt of lightning struck, heading straight for my face. I couldn’t dodge it in time and was almost out of breath.
Damn it, even if you are the thunder from the sky, you can’t just point at me and strike me every time.
So I closed my eyes and waited for death.
The thunder roared, but it did not fall on me.
I squinted my eyes and saw a not very flexible figure standing in front of me, making hand seals to block the lightning for me.
“Big Brother, get out of the way! This is a thunderbolt, you can’t stop it!”
I yelled in panic.
“Don’t make a fuss, I’m here for you.”
The eldest brother’s feet made two deep pits on the ground. Rong Ting jumped into the air with a sword in hand and cut off the second thunderbolt alive. Fire mixed with lightning exploded in the sky. The three of us were flung out together. I was blown away and everything in front of my eyes was white, and I crashed into the rocks.
The eldest brother was blown into me.
I didn’t feel dizzy at first, but I was knocked unconscious by the senior brother.
Before I fainted, I thought, last time there was one thunderbolt, this time there were two thunderbolts, and if there is a next time, maybe there will be three thunderbolts.
I don’t usually dream, but this time I had a dream so long that I suspected I was beginning to have a last gasp.
When I woke up from the dream, my master was standing by the bed looking at me.
I grabbed my master’s sleeve and asked him if he wanted to kill me because I talked too much, otherwise why would he lie to me like that.
Just because of my master’s words, I boldly let Rong Ting look at my hand, and then the red lines got tangled and I was struck by lightning.
My master said he did it on purpose and sent me to Ditang Mountain on purpose because he was afraid that lightning would damage Liuyun Peak.
I was speechless.
Master said Rong Ting also fainted, but I clearly remember that he was still awake before I fainted.
I asked Rong Ting what happened, and the master said he had only blocked three heavenly thunders and fainted from exhaustion.
My mind is a little confused. Aren’t there two questions?
I was hit so hard that my whole body felt like it was falling apart, and I couldn’t get up from the bed, so the master moved Rong Ting over and put him next to me. The two of us lay head to head and shoulder to shoulder. He tied my hand and Rong Ting’s hand together, and the red line that spread to my wrists began to glow again. I got anxious and asked the master what he was going to do.
Master tucked in the quilt for me.
I grabbed Master’s arm with my other hand to stop him from leaving.
The master patted my head and sat down beside the bed, as if he wanted to chat with me.
The master said that he had one great blessing and one great regret in his life.
Fortunately, my disciples were friendly and harmonious, but unfortunately they were unable to keep me and watched me go to the hell.
The master tapped my forehead and my body froze and I couldn’t move.
I said no.
My master said I was a fool.
I said I haven’t asked you to serve me tea or water yet.
The master said that he is still strong and healthy.
I cried and howled for him not to leave.
I cried and howled as I watched him turn and walk out.
Just like when I pinned down my senior brother and made him watch me die.
I am Yun Yi, Yun Yi from Liuyun Peak.
I don’t have any other hobbies, I just like to join in the fun.
So when I heard that day that several sects were surrounding and annihilating the monster’s nest, I finished my three bowls of rice and slipped down the mountain to join in the fun.
The goblin’s den was on fire and everyone dispersed. Instead of joining in the fun, a baby was picked up from the fire. To be more precise, it was a red-feathered crane goblin in human form.
I saw that he was crying so pitifully, so I made a bamboo basket and put him in it. There hadn’t been such a small baby on Liuyun Peak for a long time, so I decided to take him back and raise him.
My fellow disciples thought this was my son and almost broke my legs.
I said I picked it up.
The master felt his veins, gave me a punch, and said that this was a red-feathered crane, which would become a fierce beast when it grew up.
I smiled and said, “My master also said I was fierce when I was a child, but I’m fine now. Besides, how bad can a small animal be? The record that the red-feathered crane is a fierce animal was made eight hundred years ago.”
No one could persuade me and told me not to let him reveal his true identity. I agreed and turned around and gave him a nice name.
Yunting.
Cranes cry in the cloud pavilion.
This child is my apprentice and must follow me.
I have never raised a child, and red-feathered cranes grow slowly.
Before I went into seclusion, he looked about seven or eight years old. After thirty years of seclusion, he still looked about seven or eight years old.
I was so angry that I turned around and continued my retreat.
Then he grabbed my sleeve and told me that I was in seclusion and what should he do alone.
Seeing how pitiful he looked, I picked him up and kissed him on the face.
“My good disciple, Master will no longer be in seclusion.”
All my senior brothers and sisters, even my junior brothers and sisters, have accepted many disciples, and only my yard is still empty. From morning to night, there are only Yun Ting and I.
Yunting asked me why everyone else had grown so big, but he was still so small.
I acted like a master and flicked his head to make him concentrate on practicing.
To be honest, as a master, I can’t do anything except teaching him how to practice martial arts.
He cooks the meals, washes the clothes, and even swatts the mosquitoes while he sleeps.
I watched him sewing clothes with his eyes squinting in the candlelight, and I felt deeply that it is not easy to be a disciple. Fortunately, my master has many disciples.
The other disciples were able to go out for training, and Yun Ting finally grew into a young man.
The clothes on her body were too short, revealing her wrists and ankles.
I looked at it for a long time and asked him if he wanted to go to Master Uncle to see if there was any clothes he could wear.
A sect is like this, brothers are friendly and respectful to each other, and when the elder brother dies, the younger brother will succeed him.
Yunting sighed and brought back a basket of old clothes that afternoon.
You can still wear it after washing.
When other fellow disciples came back from training, Yun Ting asked him with a bitter face when he could go for training again.
I originally wanted to tell him that he couldn’t go because the world outside was too complicated. If he, a little crane, flew out and was discovered, I might not be able to save him.
But his face was full of anticipation, so I had to take him out of the mountain gate secretly.
Liuyun Peak has been lonely for a hundred years. I was having so much fun playing outside that I didn’t want to go home. Yunting asked me with a bitter face when I would go back, otherwise I would be doomed if I was discovered.
I said it was okay and asked me to finish my meal.
Then I was punished to reflect on my mistakes facing the wall when I got back. I sat in the small dark room and was so bored that I picked my feet.
Yun Ting said he didn’t understand why everyone else could go down the mountain but he couldn’t, and he would be punished if he went down.
I was always embarrassed to tell him that he was the only cub left in the Akabazuru clan.
As a vicious beast, it has been hurting people tirelessly for thousands of years and has always been wanted by everyone outside.
But I forgot that Yunting is already an adult red-feathered crane.
So he snuck away while I was sleeping.
I was so anxious that I went crazy, following the traces and searching all the way.
Finally, in the formation that trapped the beasts, Yun Ting was seen being beaten to death by two fellow cultivators, and the red-feathered crane wings behind him were exposed.
I have raised this person for such a long time, I cannot bear to pull out even a hair of his.
I don’t kill anyone, because killing people would violate the taboo of Liuyun Peak.
So I destroyed the Dantian of those two people.
They ran away tumbling and crawling, and I carried the unconscious Yunting back to Liuyun Peak.
He was unconscious for three days and I stayed with him for three days.
When Yunting woke up, I brought him some thin porridge and asked him if he wanted some, but he asked me if he was a monster.
I said this porridge was made by me and it tastes really bad.
He took my hand and asked me if he was a demon.
I said yes.
His hand slid down dejectedly.
I asked him if it mattered whether he was a human or a monster?
He said it is important because only humans can achieve success through cultivation. Even if a monster cultivates for a hundred years, a thousand years, or even ten thousand years, it will still be a monster.
I said but you will always be my apprentice.
So he drank up the porridge, wiped his mouth, and said, “Let me cook it next time. The porridge made by the master is really bad.”
People who practice Taoism do not care about age. It was not until Yunting grew as tall as me that I suddenly felt that time had flown by.
His cooking skills are getting better and better, and my senior brother who comes to eat with me is getting fatter and fatter.
At first, the eldest senior brother didn’t like Yun Ting, but after so many years of eating the guest’s food, he still gave him an invitation.
“Master’s uncle will be getting married in a few days. You can come with your master to watch the ceremony.”
Yunting asked me what marriage is, and I said it’s probably when two people fall in love with each other and stay together for the rest of their lives.
Yunting stared into my eyes and asked me, is this how we fall in love?
I turned his head away and told him to cook quickly. The food had been eaten up by the eldest brother and I didn’t get to eat a single bite.
On the day of the eldest senior brother’s wedding, the entire mountain and plain of Liuyun Peak was covered with red silk.
I strolled around everywhere, thinking that when Yunting got married in the future, I would give him a grand wedding and celebrate with everyone.
Yunting drank two glasses of wine and was drunk with a flushed face. He ran out and told me that my senior brother kissed his wife, just like I kissed him when I was a child.
I said, can it be the same?
Yunting scratched his head and said, “Yes, I am taller than my master. So my master is my wife?”
I beat and kicked him all the way back to my yard.
He walked in front and I kicked from behind, and I found that he was indeed half a head taller than me.
I didn’t know Yunting’s birthday, so I hastily set his birthday on the same day as mine. After all, this way I could receive an extra gift.
But I really didn’t know what to give him, so I found my master and told him that I wanted to take Yunting down the mountain and travel around the world.
My master rolled his eyes at me and said, Yunting is already so old, just let me go and don’t disturb him from practicing.
I pulled out a strand of my master’s white beard, and left Liuyun Peak with Yunting amid his angry curses.
I originally thought that I would travel around the world, broaden my horizons and then return with Yun Ting.
But as luck would have it, I met the two people whose dantian I had once destroyed.
Children of noble families are different. Even if their Dantian is damaged, they can still rely on elixirs to prolong their lives. They have lived so long, although they look older than my master.
They didn’t recognize the grown-up Yunting, they only recognized me with the same appearance. They found a group of people to surround Yunting and me. I kicked Yunting and made a charge gesture.
The battle was over in just two sips of tea.
Yunting’s hair was tied up neatly, and her ponytail was still swinging when she kicked everyone away and came back to me.
I put my arm around his shoulders and said, “Master, let me take you to eat noodles with two servings of beef.”
Yunting held the sword in his arms and asked me why I couldn’t just kill them directly. His sword was almost unsheathed.
I tapped his head and told him that these were the sect rules and that we were a reputable and upright family.
Yunting asked me again why I didn’t carry weapons when I went out. I said it would be embarrassing to carry weapons as a master.
I regret it very much.
I regret not killing those two people directly back then.
They are still alive today and have the energy to ask me behind my back which sect I belong to and how I dare to shelter the remnants of the Akabazuru.
My back was shaking with anger.
My Ting’er is the most precious treasure in the world, but these old guys actually say he is a remnant.
Yunting looked back and asked me what the remnants meant.
I clenched my fists, unable to think of how to explain.
The old man went on to say that his entire family had died, with only one person left.
So I turned around and slapped him more than seventy times until he passed out.
This is the first time Yunting has quarreled with me since he was born.
With red eyes, he asked me why I just watched his people being slaughtered.
I was at a loss and wanted to wipe his tears, but he waved my hand away.
I said it was already late when I got there and he was the only one left.
He asked me if I would save them if I caught up.
My head is tingling.
If I catch up, I won’t save him.
Because the red-feathered crane is a ferocious beast recorded in ancient books.
What I did most in the past was to go around slaying demons and monsters after having a full meal.
My silence made Yun Ting angry and mad. He asked me why I could watch calmly while others killed Chiyuhe. He wanted to kill the two people who had wanted to kill him, but I told him that he had to abide by the rules of the sect.
There is no such thing in this world.
I was speechless and Yunting slammed the door and left.
That night I allowed Yunting to kill someone and even helped him clean up the mess.
I found Yunting on the street, who was so drunk and disoriented that he didn’t know what was going on, and carried him back on my back.
He asked me if he had done anything wrong.
I said I did nothing wrong, there is indeed no such thing in this world.
He asked me if he could still return to Liuyun Peak.
I said yes, as long as I am here, no one will dare to let you go.
When I woke up the next day, Yunting told me that he wanted to go back to Liuyun Peak.
I said let’s go back then.
The days on Liuyun Peak seemed even more boring. Yun Ting seemed to be holding his breath and practiced ten times harder.
I can only go to see my senior brother when I have nothing to do.
The eldest brother had already held his daughter in his arms. He was smiling like Maitreya Buddha and asked me if my little niece was cute.
I said it was cute, but the cutest one would have to be my son Ting’er when he was a child.
The eldest brother nudged me with his elbow and asked me why I hadn’t gotten married yet.
At the beginning, my master wanted to arrange a wedding ceremony for me. The threshold of Liuyun Peak was almost worn out by people. Later, no one came. Because Yunting always cried when I went to the wedding ceremony, I had to hold him in my arms.
Which young lady is willing to come and take care of my child?
Now that Yunting has grown up, I no longer have this idea.
I told my senior brother that rather than getting married myself, I would rather find a marriage for Yunting so that he could settle down.
As luck would have it, these words were heard by Yun Ting who came out to look for me.
That night he got angry with me and said he didn’t want to get married.
I said, do you want to be a lonely old man with me in Liuyun Peak?
Yun Ting frowned and said seriously that even if he wanted to get married, he would only marry me.
I pretended to hit him again, but he held my fist and told me that heaven and earth are my witnesses and that my heart is pure.
I was so scared that I flew out of the window without even having time to open the door.
I asked my master for help, but he said it was all my own fault.
I asked my senior brother for help. He touched his stubble and said that I was the master and it was me who should marry him.
I understand.
So he planned to run down the mountain to buy two jars of wine so that he could go and propose marriage.
Then I met Yun Ting at the gate, who was carrying four jars of wine.
I asked him what he was doing.
He said he bought wine to propose marriage.
I asked who taught him.
He said second uncle.
Damn, I’m a step late.
I didn’t agree. I am the master and he should respect me.
Just on the third day after I rejected Yun Ting, he disappeared.
I searched the entire mountain, and the eldest brother said that maybe she was going to prepare the betrothal gifts.
My heart was pounding, not because I was happy, but because I was anxious.
The eldest senior brother asked me to go down the mountain to look for Yun Ting, and he stayed at Liuyun Peak to look for the red silk from that year and found it for Yun Ting and me.
It is true that brothers are friendly and respectful to each other. I never thought that my Liuyun Peak has become so poor.
When I was going down the mountain, I met a disciple guarding the gate, who asked me where I was going.
I said looking for an apprentice.
When the disciple asked me, “Senior Brother Yunting?” I said, “Nonsense. Where do you see me? I have no other disciples.”
He said that Yun Ting went to have a drink and chat with them yesterday, and they talked about rumors in the underworld.
The disciple said a lot, and I only heard Yun Ting ask which sect or faction killed Chiyuhe back then.
Crazy, all crazy.
I went to Qinglu Gate, and saw that everyone in the gate was slaughtered.
I went to Yuetongling and my entire family was massacred.
I went to the Fengying Sect and found Yunting nailed to the wall by the Exorcist Nail. Under Yunting’s feet were the severed red-feathered crane wings and the sword blade broken into several sections.
He was still wearing the new robe I bought for him. It fit him perfectly so that his wrists and ankles were no longer exposed. But the clothes were stained red with blood, and blood was dripping down the hem.
I stood in the huge yard, surrounded by people. Every time I moved a step, the people surrounding me moved a step.
The leader of the Fengying Sect was holding a knife with blood on the blade. I thought it was Yunting’s blood.
He asked who I was
I said give Yunting back to me.
He asked me if I was a remnant of the Akabazuru.
I said give Yunting back to me.
I used my luck to send the people around me flying, and got entangled with the leader of the Fengying Sect. He used a knife and I used my fists. Every drop of Yunting’s blood I dripped was an extra punch I hit him with, until I forced him into a corner, broke his knife with one punch, and destroyed his dantian with another punch.
The people around us retreated far away. I pulled out the nails on Yunting’s body one by one with trembling hands. He lay on top of me, and the blood seeped into my clothes bit by bit.
I heard him say with his chin resting in the crook of my shoulder.
“Master, you are here.”
“Master is late. Master shouldn’t have gone to so many wrong places.”
I wanted to reach the crane wings on the ground, but I just couldn’t.
“Master, you are more powerful than I thought. You can actually beat him.”
“I couldn’t beat him before, but now I can beat him now.”
I didn’t dare touch the wound on his back and wanted Yunting to lie on my back, but his hand bones were broken and he kept sliding down.
“Master, I’m in pain.”
I told him to be a good boy and I took him home. When he got home, he would be with my master. He would heal his wound and the pain would go away.
I wanted to free my hand to slap myself. My master asked me to learn how to make elixirs and treat illnesses, but why didn’t I learn it?
“Master…”
Yunting’s voice became weaker. I vaguely heard the sound of a knife stabbing into flesh. Yunting fell to the ground along my back and I couldn’t hold him back no matter what I did.
I turned around and wanted to pick him up, but what I saw was the face of the Fengying Sect’s leader, distorted and complacent. The broken knife in his hand was broken by my punch. He had just pulled it out of Yunting’s body, and the knife had just stabbed into Yunting’s heart.
I couldn’t seem to feel my own breathing or my own movements.
I just thought, I want to kill someone.
So I took out a sword from my body, and strong winds gathered from all directions. It’s not that I don’t have weapons, but I’m afraid of being hurt by weapons.
I am the sharp blade. If I want the sword to kill, it will kill. If I want the sword to slaughter, it will slaughter.
As for the rest, I don’t remember. It was my first time killing people, and I killed too many people. I only remember the bloody eyes and the dying Yun Ting.
I wanted to pick up Yunting, but no matter how many times I tried, my legs kept getting sore and weak and I couldn’t stand up. I could only sit on the ground, pick up Yunting, and keep inputting spiritual energy into him.
Yunting seemed to be talking to me, but I couldn’t hear anything until he held my hand and said to me, Master, you have violated a taboo for me.
I broke a taboo. I should have done it earlier. I shouldn’t have just broken his knife. I should have killed him at the beginning.
Yunting asked me if he was dying.
I said he wouldn’t, as long as the master is around, you can’t die.
Yun Ting said that the person he killed was not the one who should be killed.
I said that he was someone who deserved to be killed. The Akabane Crane had been in seclusion for many years. These people wanted to use the wings of the Akabane Crane to refine weapons for their own selfish desires.
Yunting suddenly smiled a little, then blinked, like when he was a child, sitting under the lamp and sewing clothes into a mess, and he said
“Master… I wanted to take revenge… I bought a few new jars of wine and then went to find you… They said that the two of us… can’t be married… We should be Taoist couples… Master… I want to be Taoist couples with you…”
I put my forehead against Yunting’s forehead, and our tears mixed together.
I heard Yunting ask me, since both of our clothes were dyed red, did they look like wedding gowns?
I said yes.
I heard Yunting ask me what the right way in this world is.
I said I don’t know.
I heard Yunting say, Master, I like you.
I choked up and said, “I like you too.”
But Yunting closed his eyes and wouldn’t open them no matter how I called him.
I apologized to him and said that I was wrong. I shouldn’t have just wanted to keep you in Liuyun Peak. I shouldn’t have said those stupid words that shouldn’t be violated. There are so many roads in this world, how could we have walked into a dead end.
I begged Yunting to open his eyes. I wanted to take him home, take care of his health, and then accompany him to get revenge.
Yunting didn’t open his eyes. I held his cold body and sat in the sea of corpses and blood and cried. I carried his cold body on my back to Jintang Gate. Wherever the sword points, no one will survive.
I asked Yunting, if he could stop being silent since I had avenged him.
Yun Ting ignored me, so I carried him back to Liuyun Peak.
The Liuyun Peak is decorated with lights and colors, wishing me, a thousand-year-old bachelor, to find a Taoist partner.
I carried him on my back into the treasure pavilion, rummaged through the drawers and found the Soul Gathering Lamp. I stayed in the treasure pavilion for six days and tried the Soul Gathering Lamp countless times until my master broke through my barrier, came in and slapped me in the face.
My master woke me up and told me that Yunting was dead.
I cried and laughed, I was crazy, I knew Yun Ting was dead. But what about his soul? He still had a soul.
The master said that Yunting was a red-feathered crane, with a limited life span, without a soul or spirit, and unable to even reincarnate.
Akaba crane, Akaba crane.
I screamed madly and threw the soul-gathering lamp out.
I sat on the top of Liuyun Peak holding Yunting, refusing to eat or drink, and anyone who came to persuade me was kicked down.
It was not until those famous and upright sects rushed to Liuyun Peak with loud gongs and drums that these people recognized me by the sword I sacrificed.
If they hadn’t said it, I would have almost forgotten that I had once killed all the demons with just a sword.
It was I who made me put down the sword,
I looked at Yunting’s face which I had wiped clean.
It was the baby I picked up at the beginning. I was thinking about feeding him and washing his clothes every day, so how could I have the mood to draw a knife or a sword?
Retribution, this is retribution.
I killed so many evildoers, and God took Yunting away from me.
If you kill someone, you have to pay with your life, but I don’t want to pay.
I held the sword and asked them, who wants to fight me?
No one came forward.
So they forced my master to deal with the traitor.
I handed the sword back to my master, knelt before him, and begged him to kill me.
The master used his luck to crush the sword into powder and told me to go.
I want to preserve Liuyun Peak’s reputation, and my master wants to save my life.
I took Yunting and left Liuyun Peak.
I asked all the gods and Buddhas, but no one could make Yunting open his eyes.
I knelt down and worshipped the King of Hell, but no one gave Yunting back to me.
So I entered the Hellfire.
Corpses are floating on the surface, and the hell of fire is calling back souls. I will never regret even if I die nine times.
While there are people in the world who cultivate immortality, there are also people who become demons.
Holding Yun Ting in my arms, I jumped off the endless cliff and fell into the hell of endless fire. The demon cultivators fed on the spiritual energy of the immortal cultivators. Under the hell of endless fire, there were piles of corpses of immortal cultivators like mountains.
No one in the world can save Yun Ting, so I come to ask the devil for help.
The Ghost King sat on a high seat and asked me what I could offer him in exchange. I said that there were no more than ten cultivators in this world who could defeat me.
The Ghost King strolled up to me, lifted my chin and laughed wildly, saying it was really funny while laughing.
He said that he thought that all the immortal cultivators in this world were despicable people who would only come to him to beg for alms of magic cultivation techniques.
I looked into his eyes and could only see red madness.
If I cannot save Yunting, I will pledge my life.
I gave half of my life to Yunting. Yunting had no soul after his death, so I would use my life to mix with Yunting’s body to create a soul and send him into reincarnation as a human being.
He gave half of his life to the Ghost King, and was condemned to eternal damnation in Hell. He was willing to be a slave, using his body as a container, cultivating every day for the Ghost King to absorb.
I was like a lonely ghost, wandering in a hell of fire filled with demon cultivators. This hell of fire did not distinguish between day and night, but only between cold and heat. When it was daytime outside, the hell of fire was like a burning fire. When it was night outside, the hell of fire was like a thousand layers of ice.
I practiced in the Hell of Fire every day, and the Ghost King would come to absorb my spiritual energy whenever he had time. He said he was sucking me, but in fact he just surrounded me and sniffed me, making me feel like a roasted suckling pig many times.
The Ghost King was very generous to me, his personal slave. When he had free time, no one cared about me, so I would set up the alchemy furnace and try to make elixirs, or carry a large iron block to sharpen the sword. When he couldn’t sharpen it anymore, he would cut his hand and drip some blood on it, so that the blood would no longer be astringent.
When I bleed, some demon cultivators would occasionally come over, but unfortunately they couldn’t beat me, so they just walked around me. I was busy sharpening my sword.
I walked alone amid the incessant wailing in the Hell of Fire. The immortal cultivators who were captured recognized me as one of their kind. Some angrily scolded me as a scum of the immortal way and an accomplice to evil. Some begged me with tears streaming down their faces to save his life. I followed the Ghost King, and he said someone was scolding me. I drooped my eyelids and counted the days since Yun Ting’s reincarnation.
When the sword was sharpened to its initial shape, I measured it on my neck. When I turned around, I saw the Ghost King picking up a little kid and throwing him in front of me.
The little brat was making such a threatening gesture that I burst into tears at the first sight. I quickly put down my sword, then pointed at the Ghost King with trembling hands and asked him what he meant.
The ghost king leaned in close to me and smiled harmlessly.
“My little slave has already cultivated to the Mahayana stage. If I don’t have some leverage over you, how can I expect you to work hard for me?”
“Then you can just kill me.”
“How could I bear to do that?” The Ghost King touched my face.
What a bad fate, what a bad fate. I looked at the little brat who was reincarnated as a human but was caught by the King of Ghosts and thrown into the hell of fire. I held back my tears and lowered my head to ask him what his name was. He pursed his lips and turned his head away, refusing to speak.
I asked him if he wanted to be my disciple, and he bit my hand hard.
The Ghost King watched the show leisurely, and I sighed as I settled the people down.
He used forbidden techniques to go against the will of heaven, and exchanged his life for reincarnation. Even when they met, they did not recognize each other.
That night, I worked particularly hard to massage the Ghost King’s shoulders and legs. I also tidied his clothes and praised his outstanding demeanor. I don’t know when a red line appeared on the Ghost King’s hand, and I, his personal servant, didn’t even know it.
“What is this?” I pointed to the line.
The Ghost King raised his proud chin and told me that this was my half of my life. Yun Ting’s reincarnation was successful, and this line naturally appeared.
I searched for a long time on the Ghost King’s exposed arm but found no other red lines. The Ghost King said viciously, “Do I think everyone in this world can be his slave?”
I said, oh.
Maybe I just look like I was born with a face that serves people.
The Ghost King has half a life, so Yun Ting naturally has it too.
In order to find out what was going on, I took advantage of the Ghost King’s sleep and carried the sleeping Yun Ting into the Ghost King’s room. I pinched Yun Ting’s wrist and tried to use my spiritual power to activate the red line. Sure enough, it appeared, but the two red lines just came together and began to twist and entangle. I was so fascinated that I didn’t expect a bolt of lightning to actually penetrate the barrier outside the Hell of Fire and strike down from the sky. I was so scared that I quickly ran away holding Yun Ting.
The King of Ghosts was struck badly that night, and I heard that even his hair was burnt.
So I was beaten the next day. It was my fault, and I didn’t dodge. The Ghost King pinched my neck and asked me if he had been too indulgent to me over the years.
My throat was locked and I couldn’t speak. The Ghost King threw me to the ground, raising a circle of dust. The noise startled Rong Ting. He was standing at the corner looking at me. I wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth, smiled at him, and told him to leave quickly.
The Ghost King was struck extremely badly, and I was also beaten extremely badly, to the point that I was unable to get out of bed for three days and three nights.
When I was able to get out of bed and move around, I ran to find the King of Ghosts and asked him why the thunder had occurred.
The Ghost King was getting annoyed with my pestering and told me that forbidden techniques were against the will of Heaven and that putting the two lines together would trigger a thunderbolt.
I thought that God really had eyes and ears all around. I just tried it and it struck me with such accuracy.
So I bowed deeply to the Ghost King and thanked him for taking half of my life, otherwise I would never be able to hold hands with Yun Ting again in this life.
The Ghost King said to me with a dark face, “Get lost.” I happily left with a bruised face. Then I searched through all the ancient books in the Hell of Fire. Finally, I found the heavenly thunder that the Ghost King mentioned in a book covered with layers of spider webs.
Using forbidden techniques to violate the eternal heavenly way, when the red lines are entangled, heavenly thunder will fall. There are twelve thunders, and if one can withstand them, the red lines will disappear and will no longer be controlled by the thunder.
I thought about the ghostly look on the Ghost King’s face after he was struck by lightning. Let alone twelve thunderbolts, even if it was just one, I would have to use all my strength to block it.
Facts proved that I had thought too much. Yun Ting’s disgust for Huoyu was far beyond my imagination. Let alone holding hands, it was extremely difficult to see him look good.
Life in the Fire Hell is no more interesting than that in Liuyun Peak. Every day I throw cultivation books next to Yunting. In this Fire Hell filled with demonic cultivators, we two cultivators stand out.
Someone complained to the Ghost King, and the Ghost King impatiently told me to restrain myself. I agreed and continued to throw books to Yun Ting.
Occasionally, when Yun Ting was bullied and I was not around, I would circle around in the Hellfire looking for him afterwards, find him from some corners, and bring him back to apply medicine.
People who practice magic always hit people harder, but considering that Yun Ting was brought back by the Ghost King himself, I didn’t dare to absorb his spiritual power. But his body was often covered with bruises, so I could only strip him of his clothes and apply medicine to him.
He gritted his teeth and asked me if I was a good person or a bad person.
While I was applying medicine on him, I looked at the birthmarks on his left and right shoulder blades. I could tell they were neither good nor bad, just an ordinary person’s.
So he told me his name was Rong Ting.
I was stunned for a moment and said, “That’s a good name,” and then told him to lie down quickly because the medicine had not been applied yet.
There were not many people in the Hellfire who spoke to me. Some found it strange that I took extra care of Rong Ting, and joked that since I was asking him to learn how to cultivate immortality and kill people, I might as well just accept him as my disciple.
When Rong Ting heard the word “murder”, he stood there in a daze for a long time and asked me if everyone here likes to kill people.
I nodded, and he pouted at me, called me a big devil, and ran away alone.
I held my forehead with my hand helplessly and stopped the person who wanted to teach Rong Ting a lesson.
Since then he didn’t want to talk to me. The Ghost King thought Rong Ting had the potential to be a magic cultivator because of his vicious appearance, so he threw a few people to him to absorb. I had no choice but to carry the people away and discussed with the Ghost King to let him continue to practice Taoism. The Ghost King beat me up again and tacitly agreed to my proposal.
Later, I could only occasionally throw some books on cultivating immortality and elixirs to Rong Ting. At first, he would throw them back to me intact, but later he would throw them back to me after he had finished reading them. As for the elixirs, he would never eat any.
Ting’er, who had truly grown into a human being, was no longer like in his previous life where his body would never grow up. Every few days when I saw him, I felt that he seemed to have grown taller. Before I knew it, he had grown into a big boy.
He just has a cold face every day and wears black clothes all day long. He looks more like a demon cultivator than a demon cultivator.
When the Ghost King ordered the killing of the Xu family in Jibei, I was testing my sword. The iron block from that year had been sharpened into a long sword that could cut through hair in an instant.
I flicked my fingers on the sword and wondered who would go to Jibei this time.
The blade is thin but sharp, and it clanks in my hand.
Rong Ting rarely took the initiative to come and see me, stood behind me, and said that he was going to Jibei.
I was a little stunned, and he then asked me if I usually used humans to make the elixir.
I raised my eyebrows, without comment, and handed the sword to him.
The blade is tempered with blood. I have sharpened this sword for hundreds of years. It will never break again.
He took the sword in surprise, not understanding why I gave it to him.
I said, maybe you and I are destined to be together.
The first time Rong Ting came out of the Fire Prison, he brought back the entire Xu family. He became famous overnight, and everyone in the Fire Prison gossiped about him practicing immortal cultivation techniques.
The Ghost King rewarded Rong Ting and made him the Ghost King’s Left Envoy. He looked at me with some pride, as if he was showing off that even if he agreed to Rong Ting’s cultivation, he could still train Rong Ting into a qualified slave of the Fire Hell.
I happily said congratulations and asked the Ghost King to hand over the Xu family members to me so that I could use them to make pills.
The Ghost King nonchalantly let me use it as I pleased, and I tied up a bunch of people and went back to the alchemy room.
How could I not know Rong Ting’s little thoughts? He just wanted to save the Xu family.
He released smoke into my alchemy room, and I pretended to sleep. He replaced the Xu family’s people with the magic cultivators he had knocked out, and I waited for him to leave with his people and then wake up, and then added fuel to the fire in the alchemy furnace.
There’s nothing I can do about it, since I’m the master.
Rong Ting became the Left Envoy of the Ghost King and became famous. Gradually, no one in the Hell of Fire dared not to be respectful to him. He seemed to no longer be so resistant to me and would occasionally chat with me. He asked me if I had any other name besides Zhuxianjun. I said that I had no name or surname and even the title of Zhuxianjun was given to me by the Ghost King.
He said that there were so many people in the Hell of Fire, why did I choose him to practice Taoism?
I said because you are handsome.
He walked away with a cold face. I washed myself with a smile and circulated my spiritual power for several cycles. Then I entered the Ghost King’s room full of energy.
Being a slave requires one to have the awareness of being a slave. The Ghost King is still waiting to absorb my spiritual power.
When Rong Ting accidentally walked into the Ghost King’s room, the Ghost King was sucking hard on my neck.
I saw Rong Ting’s face seemed to be frozen and kicked to pieces, and he turned around and left in a hurry.
The Ghost King took a deep breath and asked me what happened to Rong Ting.
I rolled my eyes, feeling that my innocence was at stake.
The Ghost King clamped my chin, made me look at him, and asked me if I cared so much about Rong Ting’s opinion.
The corners of my eyes twitched and I asked him, what else?
The ghost king seemed angry. He bit my neck and blood oozes out. He told me to get out.
As expected, Rong Ting would avoid me whenever he saw me after that day. I sighed and felt that there were so many helpless things in this world.
In this way, Rong Ting focused more on digging holes in the Fire Prison, but to be fair, his plan was not perfect, and sometimes it could even be said to be full of loopholes. While I was complaining that he was still a child, I was quietly cleaning up the mess behind him. The longer time went on, the more suspicious the Ghost King became of me, and he even had the idea of sucking all my spiritual power out of me, but I usually just talked about it and never took action.
I continued to work diligently. From time to time, the Ghost King would take out a dagger and press it against my Dantian, saying that he wanted to cut out my Yuandan. I stared at the dagger that was as red as jade and said that the king’s weapon was very sharp.
At times like this, the Ghost King would always laugh loudly and say that I was becoming more and more obedient.
The laughter echoed throughout the hellfire, making people’s ears hurt, and made me feel that this ghost king was more or less ill.
Rong Ting no longer brings prisoners back to the Hellfire. He can explain everything by simply saying that they were all killed. I deeply feel that at least half of the credit for his aura of trust and respect goes to me.
So when the most powerful Rong Zuoshi proposed to release all the magic cultivators in the Hell of Fire to subvert the human world, the entire Hell of Fire was in an uproar.
The Ghost King thought Rong Ting’s suggestion was very good. After all, he had been in the Fire Prison for a long time. It was time to go out and let those hypocritical people outside see what the Fire Prison was really like. So he not only agreed to Rong Ting’s request, but also showed off in front of me, saying that he was very pleased that Rong Ting had become such a successful demon through his hands.
I gave a thumbs up and said, “Awesome.”
There is no place for the Hell of Fire to stay on earth. Rong Ting said that one should be built, and I volunteered to go.
As a slave, I have not been out of the hell for many years. The ghost king’s eyes circled around me several times, as if he wanted to stare a hole in me.
He gave me three months and sent Rong Ting to accompany me.
I happily stretched out my neck to let the Ghost King absorb as much spiritual energy as he wanted.
The next day, I stood on the edge of the Endless Cliff, looking at the sunlight shining on the earth, and felt very uncomfortable. As expected, after staying in the Hell for so long, I forgot that I was still a human being.
I chose Ditang Mountain, which is an uninhabited place with unique scenery, and most importantly, it is far away from Liuyun Peak.
On the day when Lingfeng Pavilion was completed, Rong Ting put on plain clothes for the first time and stood in the sun with his sleeves fluttering. I guess this is the life he wanted.
The days in Lingfeng Pavilion are quiet and leisurely. No one has ever connected us with Zhuxianjun of the Fire Prison and the Ghost King’s Left Envoy.
Days like this remind me of Liuyun Peak. There was no eldest senior brother to drink with me, no second senior brother to chat with me, and I didn’t know how my youngest senior brother was doing with his cultivation. So I drank alone under a big tree on Ditang Mountain.
I might have been a little drunk, so when I saw Rong Ting coming out, I asked him to drink with me.
I asked him if he was happy these years.
He doesn’t speak.
I asked him why he didn’t speak.
He looked up at the moon.
I also looked up with him. I thought he must have hatred. If he had not gone to the Hell of Fire, he would be a noble young man in this world now.
After that night, I was imprisoned by Rong Ting.
I didn’t lose out. After all, Rong Ting and I lived freely in Ditang Mountain for so many days.
Actually, I was still lucky. All the other demon cultivators who followed me died, but at least I managed to keep my life.
The demon cultivators who came from the Hell of Fire could not escape their fate of not being able to return after arriving at Ditang Mountain. People in the world gradually came to know that there was a cultivator named Xuanji in Ditang Mountain, who had a long sword and was extremely handsome.
But they don’t know that I made that sword.
Rong Ting didn’t want my life, and even came to see how I was doing.
I said that Rong Zuo Shi was really powerful. He actually thought of building a base in the human world first to lure all the magic cultivators to this place.
Children always need to be praised. Praise them more so that they will be in the mood to continue doing great things.
Rong Ting sat opposite me and asked me why I killed his parents.
I thought about it for a long time and felt that I had never killed anyone.
I asked Rong Ting how much he hated me?
Rong Ting said that overturning the hellfire and killing all the evil people in the world was his lifelong wish.
I sighed.
Rong Ting looked at me for a long time, then turned and left and never came back.
After a while, the news of Rong Ting’s rebellion finally reached the Hell of Fire. A large number of demon cultivators appeared at the foot of the mountain. They no longer came to Lingfeng Pavilion, but slaughtered civilians everywhere. I thought Rong Ting must have been unable to endure it any longer, but the moon in the sky was crescent, so it was not a good time.
I waited for seven days, and finally the full moon came. Then, in the dead of night, I whispered, “Come on, sword.”
The sword given to Rong Ting flew into my hands.
Rong Ting still didn’t believe me. Even though he used my sword, I didn’t make him recognize my master.
That night I flew on my sword and returned to the Hell with ease.
As expected, the Ghost King was lying on the couch, his already pale face now looking as if covered with a layer of ash.
I pushed the door open and the Ghost King turned his head to look at me with a sinister smile.
I said, stop pretending to be fierce, I know you are feeling weak now.
I have been in the Hell of Fire for so many years, and every time the Ghost King called me I would come whenever he called. The only exception is the full moon night of every month, when the Ghost King never looks for me. When he looks for me the next day, my cultivation level is often greatly reduced and I am extremely weak.
I thought about it with my toes and decided that it would be the right thing to do to kill the Ghost King on a full moon night.
The Ghost King’s eyes were fixed on me. I walked around the room and slowly took down the dagger that was glowing red from the wall. Then I placed the dagger against the Ghost King’s dantian and turned it around, asking him if he knew what I wanted to do.
The Ghost King raised one hand and grabbed my wrist, saying, “Do you want to kill me?”
I didn’t want to do this at first. I could have stayed in the Hell of Fire as a half-human, half-ghost. But you had to bring Rong Ting back. Rong Ting didn’t like the Hell of Fire that was cold and hot all day long. He liked the moon on Mount Ditang, so I had to do it.
However, I still underestimated the Ghost King’s strength. Even though his cultivation had been greatly reduced and even though I had reached the Mahayana stage, I was still hung up and beaten by him.
He is worthy of being the Lord of the Fire Hell who can use forbidden techniques at will. If I fight him head-on, I really can’t beat him.
The Ghost King pierced my scapula with a dagger and nailed me to the wall.
This scene always seems familiar to me. If I remember correctly, my good disciple was also nailed to the wall like this.
“I have satisfied you with everything you wanted. What else are you not satisfied with?” The Ghost King pinched my cheeks, making me feel like a puffer fish.
I mumbled something, but my words were unclear.
The Ghost King went on to say, since I care about Rong Ting so much, then he will bring Rong Ting back and skin him alive in front of me.
I thought about it for a long time before I shook my head and broke free from the Ghost King’s hand. I asked him why he cared so much about me and Rong Ting, and whether he had a crush on me.
The ghost king’s pale face turned red, and then his entire face began to turn red as if it was burning. He gritted his teeth and asked me how I could have noticed it only now.
I nearly died from laughing, and the Ghost King got so angry that he took me down from the wall with my dagger and trapped me in a corner, saying he would cut my throat if I laughed again.
I asked the King of Ghosts if he took half of my life and took me as a slave because he was afraid that I would secretly run away from the Hell one day and ignore him.
The Ghost King asked me if there was any problem.
Of course there is a problem.
I slowly stood up against the wall and pulled out the dagger that was stuck in my scapula. The blood-stained dagger looked particularly strange. I asked the Ghost King, “You haven’t forgotten what this dagger was made of, have you?”
The Ghost King frowned. This hell of fire had existed for tens of millions of years. A dagger that was not very eye-catching was certainly not worth the Ghost King’s memory for so long.
So I told him it was Akabane Tsuru Tsubasa.
This dagger is forged from the wings of hundreds of my Ting’er clansmen, and the pattern of crane wings is still left on the blade.
“Master Ghost King, have you forgotten the deal you made with the immortal sect using your magic cultivation technique? Have you forgotten that you threw hundreds of pairs of crane wings into the forge to get a dagger?”
But the Ghost King frowned and thought for a long time, he really couldn’t remember.
See, this is the so-called way of heaven. A person in a high position killed other people just to forge a dagger to play with casually, but now he frowned and couldn’t even think of such a thing.
Heaven and earth are unkind and treat all things as straw dogs. What difference does it make if I embark on the path of immortality or fall into the path of evil?
The Ghost King asked me if I really wanted to kill him.
I said, fight to the death.
Then the Ghost King roared, and formed one hand into a claw with a strong wind, hitting me directly on the top of my head.
I sat cross-legged, closed my eyes, formed seals with my palms, and exploded my own Yuan Dan.
I vomited blood, and the Ghost King also vomited blood.
My face was twisted in pain, and the Ghost King’s face was twisted in pain as well.
Tsk, it was worth it that I split my Yuandan into two the night before I came out of the Fire Hell and let the Ghost King suck away half of it, causing me to have to borrow a sword to go back to the Fire Hell.
I lay on the ground vomiting blood, muttering “raise the sword” in the blood. The sword rose up and followed the inaccurate movements of my fingers to stab into the Ghost King’s heart.
The Ghost King often said that since I had become his slave, if he died, I would die too.
Rong Ting was determined to fight the Ghost King to the death. I thought, if that was the case, I might as well do it myself.
But I killed the Ghost King, but I didn’t die.
The red line suddenly appeared on my own hand, so much so that when the Ghost King’s Yuandan floated up from his body and fell into my hand, I was a little stunned.
I actually felt that the Ghost King was sincere towards me.
He wanted to take my life but did not sign a life and death contract with me. From the first time I knelt in front of him, he spared my life everywhere. He even took Rong Ting back to control me, tolerated me attracting the thunder, and taught Rong Ting the way to cultivate immortality.
The Yuan Dan in the palm of my hand was like a ball of flame, with strands of silver-white light wrapped around it. That was my own Yuan Dan.
We are committing sins. Both I and the King of Ghosts are committing sins ourselves.
That night I changed into the Ghost King’s clothes, swallowed his Yuandan, put on my mask, patted my sword, wiped the blood off it, and told it to go.
It clanked beside me and refused to move.
I told it that if it didn’t go, it would continue to grind it until it broke, so it let out a long clanging cry and staggered back to Ditang Mountain.
The next day, I led most of the magic cultivators and set out in a mighty force, and surrounded Ditang Mountain, falling right into the formation set up by Jin Rongting.
As expected of me.
In my last life, I have more or less repaid what I owed Ting’er. In this life, I still owe him a long-cherished wish of a peaceful and prosperous world, and I will repay him now.
The whole world was at war, I stood in the center, and even saw my master and senior brothers.
Good and evil cannot coexist. Rong Ting stood opposite me, her wide sleeves fluttering, and the cranes embroidered on her clothes danced in the wind, as if they were about to fly out.
Rong Ting shouted angrily, “Let me die.” The morale of the immortals was greatly boosted, and they followed Rong Ting’s lead.
I hid behind the mask, thinking of a quick resolution, and I had no intention of resisting at all.
Sand and rocks were flying on Ditang Mountain, and I couldn’t open my eyes because of the wind. Rong Ting was pressing forward step by step, and I was retreating step by step. The sword in his hand kept ringing.
Then Rong Ting recognized me. I saw him clench the sword and turn his wrist slightly, and the sword that was originally hitting my neck turned.
I was almost so moved that I hugged Rong Ting and started crying.
Then Rong Ting turned around, with red eyes, and slapped me to the ground. I was in so much pain that my nose and tears almost flew out. I lay on the ground, unable to move, and let Rong Ting take out my Yuandan with his backhand.
Damn it, this little bastard actually hates me so much in this life
My death was quite sudden, because I didn’t have time to tell Rong Ting that I really didn’t kill his parents.
But I am not completely dead yet, all this is thanks to my second senior brother who is usually lazy and likes to collect rare treasures. I remember that when I took Yunting down the mountain to travel on my birthday, my second senior brother stood at the gate of the mountain and insisted on giving me a Ningxian Pearl, saying that I had made too many enemies in the past few years, so it would be good to bring an extra treasure for self-defense, so he regarded it as my birthday present.
Generally speaking, people who engage in the business of cultivating immortals usually do not give gifts. After all, they spend decades in seclusion in the blink of an eye.
But my second brother is different, he remembers my birthday every year.
I was filled with emotion. I held the white beard of my master that I had just plucked in one hand and held the Ningxian Pearl in the other hand and asked him if this was another fake that he had bought for a few cents. Yunting, who was standing next to me, nodded.
Later, when Yunting and I went down the mountain, we were kicked down by our second senior brother.
But I didn’t expect that this time, my second brother gave me the real thing and it really saved my life.
In the battle of Ditang Mountain, I was deader than dead, and only a little bit of soul was left, attached to the Ningxian Pearl. As time passed, I broke away from the Ningxian Pearl and floated out from the crack of my coffin.
When I came out, there was a hanged man next to me with his tongue sticking out and asked me, “Are you new here?”
I nodded and said, “Thank you for taking care of me in the future.”
Some ghosts came and some left the mass grave. Brother Hang and I kept each other company, and from time to time we would hang on his rope and play for a while.
When my soul became stronger, Brother Diao asked me why I hadn’t reincarnated yet.
I said, yes.
It is indeed time for him to be reincarnated, but I don’t know how my disciple is doing now.
This person just can’t stand being talked about.
As soon as I finished talking about Rong Ting, he came with a hoe and dug up my grave with two hoes.
I was shocked. The starving ghost who had been living next door for longer told me that he seemed to have seen Rong Ting. It was he who threw me into the mass grave, but later came back with a coffin and buried me properly.
If you didn’t know, you would think Rong Ting was going to move my grave this time.
After digging twice with the hoe, Rong Ting’s face suddenly twisted, and he kept pacing on the spot. After a while, he piled the grave for me, then walked away carrying the hoe.
The hanged ghost is urging me to reincarnate.
I said no rush, I’ll think about it.
I originally wanted to reincarnate, but when he came, I kept wondering if I could see him again.
The next year, Rong Ting came again, this time with a shovel. As soon as he dug, I saw the lid of my coffin.
I asked the hanged ghost if the man who dug my grave was very powerful.
The hanged man said I was sick.
In the third year, Rong Ting came without any tools. He just snapped his fingers, and I saw my coffin again.
I think he might have been injured in Ditang Mountain and has finally recovered now.
In the fourth year, the fifth year, the sixth year…he would always come.
In the tenth year, he didn’t come.
Brother Diao said that the person who dug your grave finally forgot about your grudge.
No love, no hate, no grudge, he finally forgot about me. At that time, I wanted to cry bitterly, but there were too many ghosts around, I was embarrassed to howl, so I said that my obsession was over and I would be reincarnated.
If nothing unexpected happened, I should be a newborn baby now, but something unexpected happened, so I was lying on the bed in Ditang Mountain, next to me was the famous immortal Xuanji, and there were dark clouds outside the window. If nothing unexpected happened, my master would be killed, and if something unexpected happened, my senior brother would be killed as well.
Now I couldn’t move at all and could only howl loudly in an attempt to wake Rong Ting up, but the only thing on Rong Ting’s body that reacted was the red string that tied him to me, twisting back and forth like a snake.
I asked Rong Ting to wake up. Rong Ting looked peaceful and was sleeping more soundly than usual.
A bolt of lightning struck, I don’t know what it hit, but the house began to shake. I heard the chirping bird hanging outside the corridor stopped chirping and started to cackle, probably because it was scared.
Another bolt of thunder struck, and tiles somewhere on the roof were shattered, falling down with a crackling sound, and hitting Rong Ting right on the head.
Rong Ting opened his eyes dazedly, then asked me why he couldn’t move.
I:”……”
When the third thunder roared through the sky, I saw through the hole in the roof that the dark clouds in the sky were cut apart by dense lightning, like cracks in the earth.
The red lines were entangled, as if a farce of two lives was erupting violently at this moment. The hands that were tied together by Rong Ting and I were raised uncontrollably. The red lines emerged in front of my eyes, and our flesh turned from red to white. The faint light enveloped Rong Ting and me, and then split into three strands, entwined with purple faint light, and suddenly flew up to the sky together.
I saw Rong Ting’s hands suddenly drop down, and for some reason he began to curl up his body, holding his head with his hands in pain, beads of sweat the size of beans broke out on his forehead, and he let out a suppressed roar of pain. I wanted to pull Rong Ting’s hand that started hitting his head, and then I realized that I was able to move.
The situation outside the room was unknown. I looked at Rong Ting, whose facial features were distorted, gritted my teeth and left, then stood up and pushed open the door.
The wind was blowing so hard that I couldn’t open my eyes. I could only hold on to the door frame and hunch over to keep myself standing.
I just thought that if an accident happened, my master and senior brother would die together. This statement is not true.
Because I pushed open the door, squinted in the sky full of yellow earth and leaves, and vaguely saw my fellow disciples using their bodies as the fulcrum to form a nine-character chain formation on the ground. My master stood at the center of the formation, with his hands in a seal and raised above his head. The thunder struck his seal and landed between his hands, creating a circle of dazzling halo.
So what I just said was not correct.
If something unexpected happened, Liuyun Peak would be completely wiped out.
I wanted to go over, but how could a mortal who had lost all his cultivation and had just been resurrected less than a month ago get close to such a grand scene? I had just taken a step when I was bounced back and my back hit the edge of the bed. On the bed was Rong Ting, who was curled up with veins on his neck exposed.
I turned my head to look at him while rubbing his back. To be honest, I felt a little reluctant.
The pressure from all around me made it difficult for me to even stand up. I could only hold onto the floor covered with a layer of yellow dirt with my hands and move toward the door. Even if I had to crawl, I would get through today.
By the time I was finally able to lie down at the door and stick my head out to catch my breath, the third thunderbolt had subsided and was barely swallowed up by the formation.
The wind and sand gradually stopped, and I coughed at the door. The first person to see me was my eldest brother. He was so anxious that he almost jumped up on the spot, and yelled at me to go in and close the door.
As soon as the eldest brother spoke, everyone looked towards me, and I was still lying on the ground, which was quite embarrassing.
Everyone let me in. I shakily stood up by supporting myself on the ground, then knelt down straight on my knees.
I have kneeled properly twice in my life. The first time was when I became a disciple. I knelt in front of my master, and he reached out and stroked my head, and told Liuyunfeng Feiyun Wanqian that from then on my name was Yunyi.
The second time was when he knelt before the Ghost King and wiped out Yun Yi’s name, leaving only the Immortal Lord Zhu between heaven and earth.
This is the third time.
I bent my back and banged my head on the ground, making my head buzz.
I kowtowed three times in a row. My master stood in the formation looking at me, and everyone stood in the formation looking at me.
The sandstorm that had just stopped started to grow stronger again, and the originally cracked sky began to gather, like a piece of black cloth covering all the light from the sky, and then tore a hole in the middle, sweeping up everything around it, and finally turned into a huge vortex. A ray of light slowly leaked out of the vortex, and behind the light was crackling lightning.
I looked up at the sky, saw the lightning in the vortex, and suddenly wanted to laugh.
It turns out that the last three heavenly thunders are hidden in those two red lines. God really likes to play tricks on people.
The roar of thunder was like the sky weeping blood, carrying an overwhelming pressure that made it impossible to raise one’s head. Master’s hands moved so quickly that I could only see an afterimage. That afterimage was stained with traces of blood, which were the wounds on Master’s palms.
The master spoke to me with the sound of wind.
He said,
Yier, you must live.
Live, but if you die, how can I live?
I stood up and wanted to take a step, but Fourth Senior Sister suddenly rushed over and held my waist. I was pushed into the room by Fourth Senior Sister. She cried and said to me, Yier, everyone has missed you these years, please go in obediently, okay.
I looked down at my senior sister and asked her, “Does this dress look good on me?”
This dress was made for me by my fourth senior sister a few days ago. I treasure it very much.
Tears were hanging in the eyes of my senior sister. She touched my face and said it looked good, and that Yier looked good in anything she wore.
I nodded and said, “That’s good, that’s good.”
The master outside the room shouted loudly, and I looked over and saw thunder falling with wind and rain.
Fourth Senior Sister pushed me, but I remained motionless and just said to myself,
“Sword.”
She was stunned and asked me what I was talking about.
I stared straight ahead and continued,
“Sword.”
The thunder seemed to carry a tremendous force. The master’s knees bent instantly and blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.
Fourth Senior Sister glanced at me hastily, turned around and flew back into the formation.
I raised my hand and continued shouting
“Sword!”
There were sounds of wind, thunder, and striking all around me, but no one responded to me. Only the heavy sword in the room suddenly made a clanging sound in its scabbard.
So I looked up to the sky and let out a long howl. My voice was like a sharp blade, piercing the sky miserably.
“Sword, come!”
The heavy sword placed in the room seemed to sense something. It made a loud “clang” sound and was suddenly pulled out of the sheath, emitting a blazing flame and breaking through the rolling wind to fall into my hands.
I have tempered my sword with blood for a hundred years, just to make this day possible.
This body is the sword, and the sword is me.
I held the sword in my hand and raised it above my head, then leaped into the air into the rolling thunder. The sword energy condensed into a solid entity and cut off the thunder with one sword. The violent sound made my eardrums hurt. There was a flash of lightning all around, and a few strands of messy hair stuck to my face. I could only vaguely hear many people calling me from behind.
I don’t know when the blood started to flow from the base of my palm, and the blood was blown by the wind onto my clothes. I gritted my teeth and pushed the sword forward bit by bit. I don’t know when my master and fellow disciples flew to my side and formed a barrier to resist the thunder. My third brother spat and said that we brothers hadn’t fought side by side for a long time.
I want to laugh, but I can’t.
I really am, how could I have deserved this?
Seeing that the thunder was about to die down, I thought I could finally breathe a sigh of relief, but the next bolt of thunder came down along with the unbroken lightning. The exponential pressure made my mouth suddenly full of blood. The people around me fell down one after another, and in the end, only my master was left with me.
I spat out a mouthful of blood and angrily cursed Tianlei for being unreasonable.
The barrier became thinner and thinner, and winding cracks appeared on the blade. I thought I was going to die again, so I simply closed my eyes and put all my strength into the sword to stop my hands from shaking.
In a trance, I heard someone calling me Master.
I thought I was hallucinating. The person next to me was clearly my own master, and he only called me Yi’er. But that person held my hand and protected me behind him. The pressure around me suddenly decreased. I opened my eyes in shock and saw Rong Ting with messy hair, using his hand as a tool to instantly repair most of the cracks in the barrier.
My robe and Rong Ting’s robe overlapped in the wind. He looked back at me with the barrier on his back. He opened his mouth, his eyes were still bloodshot, and the tears that fell reflected my appearance. I looked at his lip shape.
“Master.”
I wanted to answer him, but my voice was hoarse and the piercing emotions that surged up in my heart made it impossible for me to speak, so I raised my sword and wanted to tell him,
Master is here.
The vortex in the sky became deeper and deeper, and I knew that the last bolt of lightning was about to fall.
If we can’t live together, then let’s die together.
When the last bolt of lightning struck, the barrier that had been struggling to hold together finally broke apart with a bang, and vanished into thin air like snow boiling in a raging fire.
I held Rong Ting’s hand, but he turned around and hugged me, covering my eyes with his hands. Thunder instantly fell on his back, and everything in front of my eyes was dark. I could only feel the tears wetting Rong Ting’s palms and sticking to my own face.
Rong Ting whispered to me word by word
“Master, it’s not me.”
I returned to Liuyun Peak. Ditang Mountain was struck by lightning and most of the mountaintop was gone. I thought I would never see the moonlight of Ditang Mountain again in this life.
I live in the most remote courtyard of Liuyun Peak, surrounded by towering trees. The sunlight can only shine right into the courtyard, so I moved a chair and sat in the middle of the courtyard to bask in the sun.
The shadows of the leaves fell on my clothes, and they were clean without a trace of blood. My fourth sister made a lot of new clothes for me, so I no longer have to worry about them being stained by blood.
The disciples outside only know that there lives an uncle who lives in seclusion and doesn’t care about worldly affairs. No one knows that I am Yun Yi from back then. The eldest senior brother still comes to see me from time to time, and my little niece has already grown up and is about to get married.
When the eldest senior brother came, he moved a chair and sat next to me. He asked me if I wanted to drink. I shook my head and said no.
The eldest brother said that people around Ditang Mountain heard that the immortal Xuanji had survived a heavenly calamity and ascended to heaven, so they erected a huge human-shaped statue of him. People kneel down and worship him every day to express their gratitude to him for saving the people from disaster.
I remembered that the Ghost King killed Rong Ting’s parents and took Rong Ting back to the Hell of Fire. At that time, Rong Ting was just one of the common people.
I pointed to the open space in front of the yard and asked if I could find some bricks and stones as I wanted to build a pavilion here.
The eldest brother sighed deeply, and I continued, don’t let the second brother find it for me, I always feel that even the bricks he has are fake.
The eldest brother agreed.
I suddenly became curious and asked my senior brother if it had been planned in advance that he followed me to Ditang Mountain.
The eldest senior brother touched his head, a trace of shyness on his face. He said that when they saw Rong Ting a long time ago, everyone was shocked and didn’t understand how there could be someone in the world who looked exactly like Yun Ting. Later, when the master saw the red thread in Yun Ting’s hand, he was sure that someone had used a forbidden technique. From the moment I was truly resurrected, everyone had been planning this.
I said, oh.
The eldest senior brother said that he had been to Ditang Mountain in those ten years, wanting to avenge me, but Rong Ting was not there every year when he went there.
I suspect that Senior Brother just happened to arrive when Rong Ting went to dig up my grave.
No…it should be said that it was when the King of Ghosts went to dig up my grave.
When I went back to the Hell to kill the Ghost King, Rong Ting was awakened by the chirping of birds in the middle of the night. When he woke up, he found that the sword was gone, and the man was gone too.
He searched all over Ditang Mountain and finally went to the Hell of Fire. As soon as he got there, he saw the Ghost King lying silently on the ground. As luck would have it, the soul of this thousand-year-old demon, the Ghost King, possessed Rong Ting’s body.
During the battle on the second day, Rong Ting recognized me and dodged the sword to save my life. The Ghost King recognized me and with red eyes he dug out the Yuan Dan.
Just dig it, most of it is his anyway.
So everyone watched as Rong Ting held me in his arms with trembling hands and in great pain, and then with a ferocious look on his face he slapped my soul away.
In this situation, as the saying goes, there can’t be two tigers in one mountain.
After I died, the demon cultivators were leaderless and scattered. The Ghost King threw me into a mass grave, and Rong Ting came back with a twisted face, carrying the coffin to bury me.
Every year the King of Ghosts wants to dig me out and grind my bones to scatter my ashes, so Rong Ting piles up the incomplete grave I dug.
He had been arguing with the Ghost King for decades, and asking the Ghost King for the truth for decades. The Ghost King would stroke the red line and tell him that he would never tell him even if he died.
So in the tenth year, the Ghost King was finally killed by Rong Ting.
In fact, according to the Ghost King’s original strength, Rong Ting could not kill him. It was just that after I died, Rong Ting held me in his arms, and the two red lines were entangled together. The Ghost King came out and gave me the palm that scared me to death. The thunder fell from the sky and struck the Ghost King, and also struck my Lingfeng Pavilion.
The Ghost King was silent, so Rong Ting was able to lead the righteous people to a great victory.
Rong Ting was half human and half ghost on Ditang Mountain. He was sometimes conscious and sometimes crazy. When he was conscious, he would sit for a long time under the tree where I often stayed. When he was crazy, he would stab himself with a knife. He fought like this for ten years. In the end, he refined the Yuandan and gave up most of his cultivation before he could truly disperse the Ghost King between heaven and earth.
Rong Ting had been in a coma for several days. The first thing he did when he woke up was to dig me out of the mass grave. He wanted to move me to another place as this mass grave was too dirty and too crowded. No one wanted to grind my bones to ashes now. He wanted to take me back to Ditang Mountain and bury me under the big tree where we had once watched the moon together.
Then he looked at my lifelike body which had been buried underground for ten years and fell into deep thought.
He also thought that maybe I wasn’t dead yet.
So he ran to Liuyun Peak to borrow the Soul Gathering Lamp.
When he was surrounded, my master asked him what he wanted to do with the soul-gathering lamp.
He said to save people.
My master asked who to save.
He said, sweetheart.
So my master borrowed it.
Later, my master said that the main reason he agreed to lend it was because he wanted to lend it to Rong Ting, and then slap his sweetheart to death with a palm, so that he could experience the feeling of losing his loved one.
I said that my master is always not serious.
No one expected that Rong Ting wanted to use the soul-gathering lamp to gather my soul.
There is really no certainty in this world.
Who could have thought that the Ghost King’s Left Emissary in the Hell of Fire, who never said a word, imprisoned me in the Lingfeng Pavilion just to save my life during the battle the next day.
The eldest brother wanted to go back to prepare a dowry for his daughter and asked me to go with him. I said forget it and let’s talk about it later.
I was standing at the gate of the courtyard to see off my senior brother, and suddenly thought of the thunder that day. I asked him, have you ever thought about what would have happened if I hadn’t gone out that day, and Rong Ting hadn’t recovered his memory at the last moment and sacrificed himself to block the last thunder, and they all died.
The eldest brother frowned for a long time, then cursed and said who could have thought that the last three thunders would be so powerful, and he was scared to death.
The sunlight in the yard moved to the other side, the sun set in the west, and there was only the sound of birds singing around. Now I am just an ordinary person. I have to eat when I am hungry and sleep when I am tired.
I went to the kitchen and worked for a long time, but only made a bowl of porridge, which was still watery. I only took a bite and tears fell into the bowl.
The porridge I made was really unpalatable.
“My dear, please don’t go into the kitchen. You burned it down last time.”
When I looked up, Rong Ting had just put down the things in his hands and walked over to me in two steps. He snatched the bowl from my hand, sniffed it with disgust, and then drank it all himself.
I kicked him angrily and asked him a series of questions, why did it take him so long to go down the mountain to buy a wedding gift for my niece when he knew I couldn’t cook? I was almost starving.
Rong Ting rubbed the place where I kicked him, and pointed happily at the gifts piled at the door and the jars of wine next to them.
“I was originally going up the mountain, but I couldn’t fly because I didn’t have my Yuandan. Halfway through, I realized that my niece was already married, so I had to buy some things to propose to you.”
“Go to hell and hurry up and cook for me. Just now, Senior Brother didn’t get to eat, and his face was almost twisted into a knot when he left.”
“Master Uncle is here? Did you drink with him?”
“No, his wine is obviously bought from Second Brother. It tastes like water.”
That night, Rong Ting and I sat on the roof to admire the moon. I sighed that the moonlight on Ditang Mountain was still better, and Rong Ting said that the moon on the Hell of Fire was also nice.
I think he is stupid. There is no moon in hell.
But he turned his head and looked at me, and said that during those years in the hell of fire, I was the only one wearing white clothes and walking in front of him, and I was his only moon.
I remembered when the Ghost King beat me up and left me with a black eye and swollen face, Rong Ting came running to my room in the middle of the night and gave me a boiled egg, telling me to rub it with the egg and the pain would go away.
I asked Rong Ting if he no longer bore the grudge against his loved ones.
Rong Ting shook his head and said that the Ghost King was dead, the Hell of Fire had seen the light of day again, his parents had been reincarnated, and his revenge had been avenged.
I was stunned and asked Rong Ting if he always thought that I was the one who killed his parents.
Rong Ting was also stunned for a moment, then seemed to remember something and said that he had asked why the Ghost King wanted to kill his parents, not me.
I was so angry that I punched him hard and asked him why he was chasing me about the Ghost King.
Rong Ting said confidently, “Who told you to stick with the Ghost King every day? Since I can’t ask the Ghost King, of course I have to ask you.”
The evening breeze was so cool that it almost made my eyes roll up to the sky.
Rong Ting held my shoulder to block the wind for me and asked me if I had become a mortal, could no longer practice cultivation, and would slowly turn into an old man.
I said yes.
Rong Ting said that when you get old, you will be wrinkled and ugly.
I said you could also die early and reincarnate while you are still young and strong.
Rong Ting told me to stop talking nonsense.
“Besides, Master will definitely look good even when he’s old.”
————————————
“Master, please just obey me since I was struck half to death.”
“Go away, don’t put your big head next to my neck and suck it, I don’t have any spiritual power.”
“Why can the Ghost King be here but I can’t? I want to be here!”
“…”
